The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

This is looking like a good turnout. Deadline is in March along with the 225 squat for reps challenge Sensei started.

Perfect, I'm starting my bulk at 190lbs. I can probably get 190lbs up 15-20 times at least.

By march I should be hugeness but that means I'll have to put more weight on as well...we'll see.

wow, Beast set the bar pretty high with 22 reps. I'll be doing mine tomorrow. I currently weigh 221 right now, so I'm just gonna do the 225 as my weight. I'm hoping for at least 15 reps +, we'll see how it goes though. Maybe I'll drop a pound to get in the 220lb weight class lol.

Like the squat video, can we stop between sets? Or, do we have to hold the bar "up" and continue? I don't weigh too much and can get some with body weight. I can get 10 or so. If I "hold" the bar (to rest) I could double that. What are the rules and where do I post my results?

I just had an idea. we all do the bw bench thing, and then at the end, total weight lifted is counted. say if person a does 180x10, and person b did 220x10, person b would be the deciding winner with the most weight moved (2200lbs)... dunno if anybody would be interested in that or not, just figured i'd throw it out there.

Uh... no? Your saying if a 140 lb guy benches 140 x 23 and a guy who weights 240 and benches 240 x 20 the guy who benched less repswould win just because he's heavier? Thats not really fair at all.

I think he just means if there is a tie overall weight lifted breaks it, oh mighty midget

    No he said weight moved
deciding winner with the most weight moved
and the 240 x 20 would be more total weight then the 140 x 23

Well my shoulder is toast so this is a no-go for me. Hell, even with a good shoulder I wouldn't even do this. I mean, 315 for reps....forget it. I lose! The squat challenge sounds good though. I might give that a go in a few months. I wanna beat Stump's 50 reps.

LOL, Maybe after all these competitions are done Ill post one, there's already 2 going and I think someone should post a deadlift one, just for the sake of it LOL! Although, I cant deadlift either, and someone would probably do it for an insane number, so I think I'll be out for that one too. However, I will try to push for more strength, buuut I dont think I'll get quite that much in march- never know though!
