What does olympic lifting build? I don't think its for mass because the pictures I've seen of them dont show them to be very big, just extremely ripped. I'm in mma/nhb and this looks like it might be an effective style of lifting for what I do.
I've never noticed them to be ripped... their strength compared to their looks is actually pretty damn amazing.

You should throw some of that in every so often, like every 3 weeks add it in. I trained with a powerlifter one summer and he forced me to do his cleans and stuff- I got some good gains, give it a shot. I recommend training with people who have different goals from time to time too so you can shock your body a bit.
Things I would note are full-body conditioning and explosive strength.

I do them for football. Gives you explosive power if you do them right.
Well they may not be ripped to a body builders standard but they are very lean and look kinda like bruce leeish but not to that extreme from what I've seen.
Obviously the reason most are 'lean and small' is because they want to compete in a lower weight class while maxing their strength. Olympic lifting and bodybuilding are very different.

if ur looking to maximize hypertrophy then don't do em. but if ur playin a sport or find the sport of olympic lifting interesting then give it a try. its a highly technical form of lifting. it builds coordination, short outburst of speeed and strengthg
Well, I'm in nhb, not very serious just do it for fun but I'd like to improve in any way I can. This style of lifting looked like it would benefit any wrestling/grappling type of sport and thats what I do.
Hyperthropy isnt what I'm interested in. I'd much rather be a medium weight and very strong,explosive, fast etc. Would O Lifting help me get this?
