The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Where to put the deads?

I'm thinking about this for back day...

    Close grip pull-ups (or wide)
    Rows
    Deads
    Shrugs

    Thoughts...????

Same thing I do, except for order...

I do deads first so I can put my energy into them.

    Looks good.

I personally do deads with lower body work, but that is my preference.

Yeah I put deads first. I do all my compound lifts first then I gradually taper down to exercises that are more muscle specific.
    My back day is:

    Deads
    Bent over rows
    Lat. pulldown (wide)
    Rows
    BB shrugs

I am thinking about adding some good mornings and/or SLDL's any suggestions latman?

I honestly would do your deadlifts/goodmornings with your lower body work. You can do lats on a separate day. It would be a good idea to use all three of those exercises though. I will be switching between heavy sldl and heavy sumos in an effort to increase my dead. I will also be using heavy arched back goodmornings to hopefully help me lockout the top of my dead.

Keep em where they are. Do the deads on leg day.

If you want to be serious about powerlifting, you might want to lose the arm day. That is quite the bodybuilder/fitness queen type of day.

Well I want to powerlift yet I also want to develop a better body. I am probably about a year away from my first competition. For a few reasons.

    1. I need to drop some serious weight
    2. I need to get a bit stronger
    3. The closest PLing comp. are in southern FL and I live in TN so
thats a good 20 hour drive and my car is not that reliable to
    get down there.

Deads on leg day? Would that really help my deads since my hammies are going to be fairly taxed from squatting?

I can't complain. One day you can make the focus be increasing your squat, the next can be deads. I would do a variation of each on every leg day though.

I put either deads or squats into my leg day, not both. I am way too spent to even think about doin them both(usually not even in the same week).

Hmmm well on sat. and sun. are both off days. I could devote an entire days to deads and lats. That well give me plenty of time to recover from thurs's back day. What do you think about on sat. doing deads and lats?

Wouldn't be a good idea with legs on Monday.
