    Damn power bars

    I am in a low fat,low sugar diet, and I have included on my diet at least 2 power bars a day.

    Reading the label I found out that they have too much damn sugar.

    For example:harvest whole grain energy bar=16g sugar
    power bar high performance energy bar=14g

    DO you guys use power bars as part of a low fat diet(low sugar)?

    I don't use them at all....IMO, they don't have enough protein, and taste like crap. I if i eat a bar, it's a good bar with significant protein. Also, depending on how you use them in your diet, 16 grams is really not a huge ammount

    Um, just to let you know, you count the whole carb count not just what says sugar. This is because many products with carbs that are not labeled specifically as sugar have the same affect.

    I think the total carb count for powerbars is more like 40 something. That is how much you count.

    Actually I've seen protein bars that is low fat/high carbs and some that is high fat/low carbs. Both kid are fairly high in protein. I'd just go with tuna or chicken though for my protein source. A lot cheaper..
