    Post Cardio Nutrition

I understand that nutrition after a weight traing workout is very important. However I am not too sure about proper nutrition after my cardio sessions.

I typically consume a small meal (egg whites & oatmeal) shortly after my cardio workouts, especially since I usually do cardio first thing in the AM on an empty stomach and I thought it would be important to get some nutrients ASAP after my cardio. Recently I read some information that suggest putting off eating for at least one hour after cardio so as to take maximum advantage of the increased metabolic rate the body has from the cardio session.

Assuming cutting is my goal for the time being, what would be your suggestions for my post cardio nutrition?

    Thank you for your help.

    Depends on the cardio.

If it's steady state, I don't feed it anything special. But HIIT I feed like a lifting workout, and the fat-loss protocol is something entirely different - keep carbs far away from that one, particularly if you've used yohimbine for the catecholamine release.
