    Long awaited PR

Friday morning I went into the gym with an open mind to see what I got for one rep. I ended up getting 300x1 on the bench. This is the most I have lifted on bench for a single. I have done lower wt for reps giving me a calculated max higher than 300 but to get it on the bar, bring it slow down and explode it up was thrilling. Nobody I associate with daily gives a hoot so I thought I would share with those who(WBB) have the same addiction I do, the iron.

Fantastic bro. I hope to be there soon too

300 is a kind of a New Year's resolution for myself.

What are you repping regularly to hit that? Not that it really matters since I usually max tons more than I rep for some reason.

The last 12 months have been dedicated months of lifting. I have lifted since High School (grad in 97), but took time off for beer drinking in between. Here on is a different story, gotta get 350-365 by years end.

Most of the progress came with a 5x5 prorgam, I am at 235 for 5x5. I really like the gains but I am looking into westside. Still up in the air on what to switch to next.

Good job man! You max at 300 for 1 and 235 for 5? That's incredible, I wouldn't think your max would be that high. Congrats!

Sounds about the same as myself. When I was pressing somewhere between 190-195 at 5x5 I maxed out at 250.

Ya. Even I figured that out.

Congrats, man. I think I'm right about at a 300 max, too. I'm just waiting on the right day to actually try it. It will happen in the next month.

Nice work Cantstop! 300 is definately the best milestone for bench IMO.
I have not benched 300 for a long time, and had a year off. I should be there myself currently though. I'm up to 255 5x5, so its hard to resist the urge to max..
    Good luck with 350+...

    Thanks for the props everyone.

1mmort4l-I bet you got 3pps plus some with 255 5x5.

deeder-I finally decided to stop wondering and find out, feels good.

Guido-I bet you got 300, I need to make some ground on that sqaut now.

HeavyBomber-Thanks a lot man, been training my arse off and it's nice to see the results.

I also have been using a full ROM where in the past I would have shoulder issues with going to my chest. I have been working on my weaknesses and it seems to have really helped the rotator cuff & shoulder stability. No pain at all with my bench. (crosses fingers)
