    What are some effective linebacker workouts for football?

    I'm not too falimar with any position specific workout for football. But exercises I like the football athletes to do are: Back Squat, Front Squat, Romainian Dead Lift. Some sort of unilateral leg exercise (Bulgarian split squat, lunge, etc). Bench Press, standing military press or push press, dips, dumbbell curls, pull ups & variations of those. All the aforementioned exercises are good for basic strength increases. Then the big thing is this sport is power based. So you would incorporate the olympic lifts (snatches, cleans, jerks) and variations. Plyometrics can be incorporated too. Footwork drlls, agility, speed drills too. Core (midsection) work too is important. Another important area that a lot of people neglect is neck strengthening.
    At this point in the year I'd recommend core work, increasing flexibility, working on hypertrophy and some strength, and low intenstiy power, and working on footwork. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions post em and I'll try and help out.
