The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Bleh.. Didn't intend to lift today but went anyway. Energy was low and I was having some lean again on my heavier sets on bench, did the DB Pressing legs up to see if I can feel the indifference. Might scrap BB bench for a few weeks to try and fix this.

Much appreciated sir! I'm still in a limbo of where I want to take my training. I don't plan on competing again anytime soon honestly but I'm addicted to going heavy (for me at least) ... its a sickness. I'd like to build up the ol' heart more, winter just tends to sap any and all desire to do any cardio or GPP.

Chub - Thank you very much sir, its comin back slowly but surely.

    ME Lower:

    BB Squat -
    225 x 5
    245 x 5
    275 x 5
    295 x 3
    315 x 1
    225 x 12

    BB Deadlift (Conv.) -
    225 x 3
    275 x 3
    295 x 1
    315 x 1
    335 x 1

    * Banded Back Extensions (Dbld. Monster Mini)
    * Core Work

Yesterday consisted of puking for 18 hours straight in 15 minute intervals which while awesome for my core left me a bit debilitated today. Needless to say energy was low and I wanted to leave after the first few sets of squats. My session variety leaves a bit to be desired lately I miss my bands/chains/monolift/etc... but I could just get a bit more creative. Been eating a good amount today and holding it down so hopefully i'll be back in fighting shape come Thursday for my Valentines Day power-upper-get-blowd-up-to-get-laid session.

First workout after taking the last week off. Had to travel a bit plus my pecs had been achy on the far sides of each pec where it meets the anterior delt. If I had to guess I'd say it was due to over training but considering the right one feels pretty much 100% now after the rest the left pec acted up a good bit today and is still achy in the same spot(s) which leads me to believe it could be a mix of overtraining + compensating while trying to fix the twisting in my pressing. Definitely thinking of scrapping bench movements for a bit and/or sticking to DBs for a bit over BBs when I do get back to pressing heavy things.

The benching felt strong honestly everything flew up I just didn't wanna push it too hard considering the pec. Had some nice holds on the pin presses the concentric movement felt really powerful and the pins were set decently low.

Covered plenty of ground overall, generous with the pressing sets.

Energy was decent, speed was decent, strength was decent, everything was decent.. just not stellar. The rest was definitely good but I felt a little out of focus and a little slow in the hole, the second 315 wasn't nearly as fast as it should have been and I should have been good for a third as well. Little tightness in the back but I went in to it with it a little fatigued from the holds on the pin presses yesterday since my arch blows ass at the moment.

I've been squatting way closer (and high-bar) than I've ever squatted in the past these past few months and it feels pretty great although the weight is humbling with no wide stance/briefs and what not. I'll take my stance out again eventually but I'd really like to work up to a strong and aesthetically pleasing 405 with my current stance before returning to wider stance squatting and sumo pulls. My bench numbers shouldn't be so close to my squat numbers.. I'm doin it wrong.

Effort is fine bro, staying on the move...dig the closer stance and where you're going with it.

Busy week so had a longer rest between workouts than expected but a lil extra rest never hurt. Everything felt pretty strong but this random lean is driving me nuts.. on the descent is where the lean is then out of the hole I apparently correct myself. It's my left side/shoulder that seems to be dipping just a bit more than my right and causing the indifference. Been playing with my foot placement and tried my old stance tonight which felt decent but there's still work to be done.

Once again though I crumbled and did BB bench instead of taking a break from it as i've said time and time again over the past few weeks.. the 285 x 1 on floor press was supposed to be 295 but I only replaced one of the 25's with a 35 and it definitely felt strange, still pressed it though.

Side Note: Been drinking ON Whey for years but decided to give Nitrean+ a chance as well AtLarge's BCAA. Dutch Chocolate was backordered so I grabbed the vanilla (not bad in milk) and the Orange flavored BCAA, definitely like it so far.

Just wanted to get some weight on my back today and do some singles, haven't used a belt in a while so tossed one on for shits. I'm a total out of shape bitch with any kind of reps on squats I have a shaved head and large beard and was sweating like I was doing bikram yoga on ecstacy and breathing like fat albert at a bbq.. I must have looked glorious. Time to get the ticker back in shape...
