    Thoughts on this squatrack/bench

I was looking on Craigslist and found this ad. I got a price w/o the weights for $100. I like the price but wanted to get thoughts on the rack/bench. I wanted a cage where you squat in it....but this one you squat outside it and it has the safety pins that point outside the cage. You may have to take the pic and paste it in word and blow it up to see it better.

I dont think thats exactly a squat rack. I don't think that thing can save you if you fail at the bottom of a rep. I could be wrong though.

It is at the very bottom. I confirmed this with the seller as well...it is pretty hard to see in that pic

    Cant tell from the picture.

In my past experiences going for the best buck is really not the best thing for you in terms of lifting equiptment.

basically I am asking is a 1/2 rack with Lat Pulldown good enough. My main concern is safety in case I fail on a rep

I personally would not purchase that style of a rack. A "cage", or full style squat rack is a much better, safer, and more versatile piece of equipment.

Too bad you were not closer to Michigan. I have some nice Parabody equipment for sale from my home gym including a full squat rack.
