    Recent threads in training

I don't know what's going on, but I have seen like 10 bicep threads in like 3 days. WTF is that about?? Are we getting an influx of teen curl jockeys?? I can see the wifebeaters now! Monday night bench and curl bash!!!

well there is a influx of newbies to the site recently.

I would encourage people not to be a smart ass but to reply sensibly. I know it can get frustrating, but remember we were all at that stage at one time or another

I'm serious most of the time, but sometimes they get p!ssed when you don't recommend more bicep work. That is when the sarcasm comes on.

Pffft, Lee Priest uses Cell Tech so he can recover. Stick with no more than 18 sets.

Speaking of curling the other day at the gym I was the funniest thing.
This is a little off topic, but good.

There were 3 kids in wife beaters doing some sort of curl. They were using the cable row seat with a small curling bar on the cable. The kids would start out with there arms extended then pull the bar towards them like a row but then curl it up to there forehead.

Then one of the kids was starting to struggle around the 25th rep so he pulled real hard and smacked the bar right into his forehead. Me and about 5 other people who saw it were all laughing at him. I saw him about 10 mins later with a big red mark on his forehead; it was going to leave a big burse.

why don't we just start telling people to go read their flex, do everything wrong and make all the mistakes we did, and then come back and we will sort them out when they've realized what they have done It's all about experience

    Latman:

Somehow i see see this a thread revolving around my recent bicep post. Ok I dont recall getting upset when u say i get upset when u say not to train the bicep more often.

Its not that im getting upset, im just challenging ur opinion, by challenging people I end up learning more, and there is a wider opinions on the subject.

Calling me or anyone for that fact a "newbie" isn't right. You will not learn unless you ask questions, SURE things get repetitive, but that happens when new people sign on to the message board.

I for a fact have had some useful replies to some threads, just because some of my own questions have been somewhat basic doesn't mean im not intelligent in other areas.

    Thanks

I did not aim this thread towards anyone in particular. Just a general thing I noticed taking place in the training section. It's very good of you to question certain things because that is the best way to learn.

However, way too many trainers spend way too much time doing bicep work. You would be doing yourself a greater justice to ask questions about the big stuff- squats, deads, rows, chins, benches, OH presses, dips, etc. Curls are not always the answer to big arms. We are trying to show everyone this.

    EasyGino,
I think what Latty is getting at is the fact that this subject has been covered many times before. Before posting something as common as bicep curls, do a search and chances are you'll find what you're looking for. BTW, welcome to the board-a great place to park.
