btw, the people who wanted 365 put up a better argument as to WHY it should be 365 instead of 315, hence the reason that is the weight. good luck!
Sounds like I need to get lifting. Might get 2 or 3 as I sit now.

i still say 315. 365 is a good weight but it rules out a large number of this board. I doubt many people will get more than 15 reps in this challenge so why not just keep it at 3 plates per side and let people go crazy. look at the 225 for reps. stump got 50 reps. sure that weight seems really easy, but it included alot more people and it was alot more interesting. besides, more people voted for 315 than 365.
i'm not bitching or complaining, more just giving suggestions so there is more interest.
April first eh?
I'm going to take a shot at this. I know I wont win, but it is great motivation for me.
I tried deadlifts for the first time in six months last friday and I got 315lbs for 3reps on my last set.... Hopefully I should be able to attempt 325 this week. My goal for the april fools deadline is 10 reps of 365.
sounds good, ill try this soon and tape it.
2000 or bust
^ good luck with your goal, that would be impressive.
i think i could get it 3 times, who knows i have till april
I might get it twice.
Forever Goal: Strength
Weightlifting sucks. I just like to lift heavy things.
i would love to see some of the bigger deadlifters here, like chris mason and belial...
stump boy's got that endurance though, i think he could crunch out around 20 reps.
then after that go kill a bunny and start growling

What are the rules in terms of pausing or resetting grip between reps?
i had a few questions:
1) is a weight lifting belt allowed?
2) does sumo stance qualify for this?
3) i have here a clip from sept 2006 of me sumo deadlifting... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG-cGf6qQ0o
is that bouncing? can you please elaborate more on that

i think some people might get screwed because there grip will give out before there back and legs, i dont know its just my opinion ill do it either way
2000 or bust
I don't think Stumpy will get to 20. He has the grip of a little girl hahahaha.
Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
In strongman competitions they do this with a judge... someone who waits until the bar is dead and the lifter has limited rebound.. usually about 2-3 secs.
Since there are no judges, the easiest way is to stand up between reps.

I think it should be 315 lbs instead of 365 lbs. I would like to compete but there is no way I am going to rep out much with 365 lbs. If it was 315 lbs, I could do 10-15 reps. Thanks!

I'm sure I'll be good for 12-20 reps on this. Can't wait to try it.
What about two weight classes or something. I guess even with 315 I wouldn't be able to do it, but I would like to try something. I did just start dead lifting and I'm on Bill Starr, so maybe by April I can do much more. Even small guys like me like to try too.
Im for 315!
Ill try this when my hands heal up.
Being a strong teenager means nothing.
My wrists hurt, but some people don't have wrists to be sore. My knees have tendinitis, but some people don't have legs to get tendinitis in. I seem to be going backwards with training, yet some people can't even walk let alone lift 400 pounds on a daily basis.
Dust out the vagina, and keep on lifting.
Guys, it has already been decided. Just do 365 or start another challenge.
Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
So what was the poll in the other thread for, since the votes obviously didn't count for anything? Meh, oh well...I should quit whining and get to getting my numbers up so I can at least get my name on the board.
