    Question: So you noted that you had pinkies on rings doing floor presses. When you are doing heavy benching, where do you personally place your fingers on the rings? I ask because I am trying to experiment with different ring positions trying to find my optimal position. I am also 5'7" and I know wingspans vary but thought it'd be helpful to know what position you use. Thanks man, keep up the hard work.

    I would say just to keep experimenting and see what works best. I have kinda long, skinny arms for 5'7", so I typically go as wide as possible to shorten the ROM. My best raw bench PR's were done with middle finger on the rings.

    Never did those before so I have no idea if this was good or not, but it was hard so they served their purpose.
    Back was completely shot and didn't think I could pull, then I took the tampon out and pulled anyway.

    There was a chalk shortage, so I tried to get whatever I could out of the dust in the bowl. On the last single with the Chains I was losing my grip with my overhand at lockout, so I had to drop it immediately. I was still happy with this since all I have really been doing is pulling SLDL during the week and it seems like my raw strength is right where it was at my best. One of these weeks I will pull in the suit to see how it feels.

    On Friday I did like a non-session session. I got home from work and was f'n exhausted so I passed out for a few hours. I woke up and headed to the gym, but my body doesn't respond well to naps so I felt like crap. Decided not to squat and I tried to pull in my ace suit with the straps down. Pulled 495 and it didn't feel so good. So I took the suit off and pulled it raw. It was faster raw, so that definitely won't be what I pull in at the meet. I will try my Trex suit that I usually pull in before the meet though.

    Thanks man. I am competing at 165 and hoping to hit a PR total. My main goal is to total 1600+.


    Haven't updated all week. I slept about a total of 20 hours from last Saturday night until Friday afternoon. I worked the whole week and went to school. I only got to the gym once and did an upper body assistance session where I did a lot of volume, but nothing too crazy to mention. So, I was so shot after work yesterday that I passed out @3:15 PM. I slept until ~10:15 AM this morning, lol. 19 hours of sleep and I feel refreshed! Went in to squat/deadlift today.

    Good session! The bands were setup a little forward of the bar and everytime I unracked I just kept getting pulled on my toes. Decided to switch to chains to overload instead and I hit that rep real strong. I definitely had more in me, but I needed to pee real bad and I had to hurry and finish the session anyway.

    Was supposed to squat and shirt bench yesterday. I came home from work and absolutely passed out. By the time I woke up nobody was still at the gym so I skipped it. I had to take an 8 hr CPR/First Aid class today so by the time I got out there was nobody at the gym, lol. I squatted and pulled by myself.
