    I was pissed on the deadlift set. I was absolutely smashing the weight and the plates started to slide off the left side. Some dumbass who works at the gym recently sprayed all the bars with WD-40 and now the plates slide like crazy. Next time I rep out I have to remember to use collars. I felt like my back was good for 14-15 reps, but it was still a PR.

    Video up shortly. Started to lose grip after rep 7, got the 8th and then tried to reset grip on the floor for the 9th. Pulled it to within about an inch of locking and my body just gave out. Hamstrings/back were smoked after that set! 8 reps matched my PR.

    The bands were tough. My lockout is definitely my biggest weakness on bench and they were deloading hard the last few inches. My bench is down right now, but I am sure I could do 255-260 full range, so I wasn't getting much from the bands. Walking in the Labor Day Parade tomorrow with my Union Brothers and then I will squat afterwards. I think I will back off a bit since my back is sore as hell from Wednesday still.

    I walked in The Labor Day Parade today in NYC with my Union. So I had to go to the gym later and lift by myself. My back has been sore since Wednesday's workout...so today I was supposed to backoff. I ended up working up to a 365 squat with no wraps, which is my best in a long time. Then I tried for a huge PR on the deficit pulls and had to hitch it a bit to finish. Still happy with the effort though. I think if my back wasn't so damn sore I would have hit it clean.

    I started my third and final year of apprentice school this week. It's a welding class and goes for 4 hrs after work on Wednesday nights. So I moved my "other" SQ/DL session to Tuesday. I had the worst deadlift session I have had in months, but I guess I was due for an off day. My back felt like garbage going in(most likely from the deficit pulls), but I still tried for a rep PR and failed miserably, lol. It's all good now though and I think I am going to expermint with lighter/speed work on that day for a few weeks and see if it helps my recovery. I ended up doing 470x4 with no belt, but like I said it felt terrible. I wanted 6 reps for a PR, but it wasn't happening. I then pulled sumo for no reason at all and worked up to 505.

    Tried to setup an 18" deadlift like they have in some Strongman contests. I think it was slightly lower than that. Bar started just below the knee cap. Got some good work in and felt good that my back didn't feel like garbage like it did Tuesday. I think I will try these again later in the cycle and pull a heavy single with straps. The 605 looked fast on video, just had problems holding on.
