    I was so shot going into this Squat workout. Just really tired and sore from a long week of work/training. After the squats I was really uninspired and spent most of the rest of the time making fun of my training partners and other random gym members and then I would pull a random deadlift from time to time.

    Haha. I had the idea of putting on 20 lbs after my last meet(dec. 3rd) Here we are 6 weeks later and I'm up only a few. So for now I'm a skinny guy who can pull pretty good, squat ok and can't bench to save his life. I am staying raw for now and hope to compete again in like June-July in a belt+wraps again and hopefully increase my total significantly.

    Gotcha. Do you guys have strongman equipment at your gym? I have ran into a couple of stongman competitors here in the city and was trying to think of spots for a potential daytrip for a session. I did some squats and rack pulls with the one guy today that competes in the lightweight division.

    The strongman crew that trained at our gym switched to another gym in the area. They took most of the equipment there with them. All that's left at this gym is one of the logs, an axle bar(fat bar), a few tires and maybe a stone or two. If you guys wanted to head out the other gym charges $10 for a day pass and I am pretty sure those guys would be willing to train with you and if not I'll kick them in the nuts because I'm friends with some of them haha. A lot of my powerlifting friends train at that gym too like Chris Taylor, Shawna Mendelson and Eric Adolph, as well as a bunch of others.

    First strong deadlift session since the meet. 530 didn't move to fast, but I was able to grind out a double for a PR. Then I got some real good volume in with bands in the rack. Not sure what the tension adds on those, but they felt pretty nasty. Hled the very last rep with 425 for a while after I grinded it to lockout.

    Haha thanks man. I really peaked my deadlift with the 560 at the meet. Since then my deadlift sessions just haven't been the same and of course I don't back off...ever! But I have just decided to pull only once per week as opposed to twice like I was so maybe that will help. Even though it didn't feel easy that is the most weight I have ever doubled before though so it's a step in the right direction.
