    Bench sets felt real easy today. I have a pretty busy week ahead. I'll do speed squats tomorrow, then after work on Tuesday and Wednesday I will be going to school to weld and then to softball for doubleheaders. If I survive all that I will bench again on Thursday. This is the session I plan to work up a few pre-exhausted singles after my work set triples. We'll see how I feel. Then I should be going straight weight(not TOO heavy) on Friday for SQ/DL.

    I had some unexpected company over last night and yada yada yada I slept one hour before getting up and going to work. I went to the gym falling asleep and somehow still squatted and pulled no problem. I opted for sets of 4 on squats with straight weight. Next week I'll go back to doubles with bands. Then I added 10 lbs to the workset on rack pulls from last week and it was still pretty easy. Decided to chill on the assistance since I was crashing hard.

    I was definitely not feeling strong today, but I wanted to stick with my plan. On the 270 I did a very shitty self-liftoff and the rep was slower than I wanted. I just made a 5 lb jump for the last one and grabbed a random spotter just incase. I did a much better self-liftoff since I don't trust random people to lift me off. The weight flew out of the bottom, but when I hit a sticking point near lockout he put his fingertips on it. I am 99% sure I would have locked it anyway.

    6 sets each with very little rest


    Tomorrow I plan to go LIGHTER on squats and pulls. I think my body is telling me I have to anyway. We shall see.

    This was my "light" week so I stayd local and trained alone. The last 3 Fridays I went real heavy at All Sawced Gym. I think if I really wanted to push it I could have grinded out somewhere in the 15-20 rep range on that squat. I'm working overtime tomorrow though and I wouldn't be able to do that sitting down so I opted to not push it too hard. This will still prob make me very sore. I didn't want to follow that with a high rep deadlift set so I used 5 plates instead. My reasoning for choosing weights doesn't always make sense, but I don't really give a fuck. lol

    Last Sunday I met some neighbors(chicks) that live in the next building over in my complex. So they have been inviting me over a lot to hang out. So last night they made dinner and asked me to come over. So I brought some beers and we started drinking. Then we went to a bar and continued. So I ended up being up til 5 which meant I was up for 46 of the past 48 hours. I was totally shot and every set today felt like a max effort. I somehow grinded through all my required work sets on bench. I figure if I start being more consistent some day with my sleep and nutrition I should be good to go haha.

    Had a long, brutal week. Worked overtime almost everyday doing some back-breaking work in some nasty heat. We went in today for more overtime, but I hadn't been to the gym since Monday so I went today. I got to the gym at 5:30 assuming it was open until 7:00 or 8:00, but apparently it's only open until 6:00. So I started warming up really fast, but I felt like trash so I just got some random sets in and bounced. Next week I'll hopefully be back to business.

    Felt pretty good today. Going to switch up the bench a little bit for a few weeks and see how I feel. I'm thinking work on some pauses one week and some volume with bands the next.

    On a side note, after a 3 year apprenticeship, today I officially became a Journeyman for Ironworkers Local 361. I am rarely very proud of myself, but I would say this is my proudest moment in my adult life. I am very excited for a long, safe, rewarding career as an Ironworker. A few weeks back I also started seeing a really awesome girl and things are going very well so I am a happy man right now. This week the beer will flow like wine.
