    Hell yeah man, that's awesome. You came from conventional right? Looks like more of a narrow stance sumo. I've been toying with the idea of going a little wider and trying that out, may do so after my meet in May.

    Yea it's like a hybrid stance. I decided to try it after watching this freak pull 715@181 like that. I only used it for a couple weeks and then pulled that 585. My best conv. Is 570 at my last meet.

    Couldn't sit around all day and do nothing so I went in and squatted. I'm pretty sure 465 is my new minimum on wrap days from now until the meet. That is my opener and I want to feel that weight regularly between now and then.

    Unfortunately I totally sucked on 600! I smoked 530 and 575, but something just felt weird off the ground on 600. I felt a pain in my left quad and I started shaking a bit. It only got to like the bottom of my knee and I missed. Just seemed weird because of how strong the first 2 attempts were.

    Meet was a great success. My buddy John Gaglione put it together and had 70 lifters enter, including 20 women to help raise money for the wife of recently fallen Iron Giant Mike Jenkins. I was happy to be a part of such a great event. I took today as just a heavy training day basically, as I still squatted heavy 5 days this week, but I tink that may have cost me my last pull. It just seemed like 600 should have been there. Next time.

    Oh yea and he got a ton of support from sponsors. So I finished in second of the "Co-efficient" category for men, so I got a ton of stuff.     Wasn't sure if I would feel beat up from Saturday or not, but my top sets on squats felt strong and fast. That is the heaviest I have ever attempted to walk out without at least one spotter. I almost went to 5 plates after it, but I talked myself out of it since the plan coming in was just to go to my opener today. Benching alone sucked so I just did some close grip stuff and then since I didn't have the slingshot that I use at Gaglione Strength, I did some pin presses for overload.

    My back was not feeling 100% today. Not sure if it is from the meet or not. 465 felt ok, but nothing special. I decided to go to 500 to prove to myself I can still hit that weight on a day I'm not feeling great. Well I smoked it. I was almost going to go for a double, but I decided to rack it and go heavier. I'm glad I did because I smoked a nice PR. 19 more days til my meet and I want to be at 525+ by then.

    What a difference a day makes. I felt beat to hell today and everything felt slow. I have wicked tendinitis kicking in and my back is smoked. Just made sure I still hit my opener and then I though switching BB rows to DB rows would feel better, but my back was just too shot for any real work.

    When I started to train like this, I was told/read that your body will lie to you. I felt like crap coming in. Today was the first day I didn't even have the desire to train really which is odd for me. My back was cranked as its been all week. But when I took that 475 out of the rack everything just clicked and I smoked it. My cousin who was spotting me thought I was going to go for another rep or two because it was that strong. I might be bumping my opener to this weight if I continue to have strong sessions.

    Today was my first day back to work since Christmas. My body has been used to getting a lot of rest this training cycle, so things could get interesting these last two weeks. I might even be working overnights next week which will just be great. So despite waking up at 4:30 am and working outside in the freezing cold all day, I got to the gym and just did work as usual.     Wasn't expecting to go this heavy again, but I was feeling good and I just went with it. I was screwing around with my technique for some speed pulls both conv and sumo. I liked the roll technique ala Benni Magnusson. I decided to work it up a bit. I pulled a strong 545 with some more in the tank and this was with a regular gym bar and no baby powder. I think I will try these again on Friday with the DL bar and if they feel good I might call the audible and pull this way at the meet. That's usually how I roll. 12 days!

    I completely owned my opener tonight. I think my previous best set of 5 from earlier this training cycle was 430. My tendinitis is absolutely killing me during these sessions. Just need to make it 11 more days and put up the numbers I know I am capable of at the meet.

    My gym was closed because of the weather so I trained at a different gym. They ended up having 3 racks that were all setup with Olympic platforms and bumper plates. They also had dumbells up to 150 which isn't so common. I squatted with the bumpers which took up the whole sleeve on the bar. The bar had a lot of whip to it, but I still managed to hit my 1st and 2nd attempts for the meet. So this week alone I have squatted up to 505 3 different times, in 3 different gyms, with different racks, plates, bars, etc. So my confidence with this weight is through the roof right now. I benched on a shitty bench that was low and was shaped weird, but somehow I managed some rep PR's. I might be better off benching flat back since that was basically how I was on this bench lol.
