Pull thrus- 2 sets of 12

    Abs/obliques- 7 sets

I was feeling beat to hell today. My back actually felt fine, but my hips, hamstrings and knees were killing me. I was supposed to put gear on, but was just too lazy, lol. Of course, I still tried to beat my all-time RAW deadlift PR, but I couldn't lock it out. I went heavy today because I know next week I will be taking Saturday off and will not pull at all(I'll be away).

So I have decided, I will be doing a meet in 7 weeks. I am going to do the local meet that John Bernor and our team(East End Barbell) will be running. I'm gonna use it as a tune-up meet, since the real meet I want to hit isn't til mid-October. I'm gonna write myself a small program to try and peak for June 30th.

So Basically next week I will bench Monday, squat Tuesday and do assistance on Thursday. After that I'll be away until the following Tuesday, so I will get a rest from one deadlift day and one heavy bench day. That should be good for me and allow me to get right back to heavy training for the time leading to the meet. Now I have to go and write a training plan that I'll probably end up changing 10 times between now and June 30th.

    Dang that raw Sumo CR....
I don't know what you are weighing these days, but 495 is 3xBW for a 165'er.... awesome...

Do you ever do deeper Box Squats?
14-15 must be 2-3 inches parallel for you, correct?

    Thanks guys.

Bear/fury- I am weighing 165 and will be competing @165. I was pulling 450@150, so really my RAW pull is just about staying the same %-wise. The 14" box is my normal speed box. This puts me at parallel. I also occasionally drop to 13" to go below. I used to do narrower stance low box squats(like 9-12"), but I never really felt the carryover. I typically warm up on the 15" box because it is easier on my hips.

    Heavy bench

    Bench press(pinky on ring)

    1@095x5
    2@135x3
    1@185x1
    1@225x1
    2@225x4

    (Add DD/comp grip)

    2@275x1
    1@305x1
    1@325x1(touched/joke easy press)

I think one of the holes in my shirt was starting to open up because I heard a tiny bit of ripping right as I was about to touch the weight. It still went up easy, but I decided not to do any more shirt for the day. I'd like my opener at the next meet to be ~325 or so.

Asylum boards(One set, rerack between boards followed by immediate unrack)

    1@205x3(3 brd)
    x3(4 brd)
    x3(5 brd)
    x3(4 brd)
    x3(5 brd)

Overhead Pin presses(standing/Chin level/zero leg drive)

    1@095x2
    1@125x1
    1@145x1
    1@155x1(rough)

    Standing DB press(zero leg drive)

    1@40'sx6
    1@50'sx3
    1@60'sx8

Upper back/ rear delts- 6 sets

Since I was feeling beat up over the weekend, I wanted to use today to try and touch a moderate weight in the shirt, so I could have an idea of an opening attempt. I touched 325 very easy and smoked it. It was the fastest rep I have touched in the shirt in a long while. Most of the recent touches I did popped off the chest good, but slowed at lockout. This one was smooth the whole way with good speed. If the shirt hadn't been rippin on me I would have done a few more singles. I might have to get it patched up to be safe. The set on the boards really nailed my triceps. After that I messed with some shoulder stuff, but I will probably cut that stuff out as I get closer to the meet. Next week I am skipping heavy bench and then will only have ~4-5heavy sessions left before the meet.

325 as an opener would be killer... maybe some new gear is in order soon? A new shirt could get you some extra poundage

Tommy/chubs(I'm referring to two different people or maybe just Tommy)- I'm glad the resident gays have decided to check my journal. Don't be jealous that I still have the balls to powerlift while you do your Blue Oyster Bar inspired training.

    Cirino- shaddap.

Fury- I have needed a new shirt for quite some time. If this one holds up I will be strong enough to PR in it at the next meet. We'll see.

    Heavy squat

    Squat

    (RAW on ~ parallel box)

    1@145x3
    1@195x1
    1@235x1
    1@285x1

    (Add Ace briefs/no box)

    1@325x1
    1@415x1

At this point, I tried to use my canvas. Unfortunately I have gained weight since the last time I tried it and the legs were just too tight. I only had it on a few minutes and couldn't feel my legs too good. So, I decided I preferred not to die tonight and took the canvas off.

(Ace briefs/DD briefs combo...same as last week)

    1@415x1
    1@505x1

    (Add belt)

    1@555x1
    1@610x1(self-knee wrap)
    1@610x3(PR/tight knee wrap from Spero)

I was gonna do raw straight bar squats here, but my hips were killing me, so I decided on the narrow SSB squats.

    RAW squats(SSB/narrow/ATF/no belt)

    1@155x3
    1@185x2
    1@205x8(PR)

Pretty sick night with a small crew. I was kinda pissed I my canvas wouldn't fit, but it worked out fine. My goal was to go straps up in the canvas for 610x1 below parallel...then crank the straps tight and triple it. Since we were short handed and really couldn't have a proper depth caller, I had the side spotters call me up. I took the first 610 to basically flat(didn't look like it broke) and came up easy. Then I tripled it to a little above parallel. I'm gonna try and open up the legs on my canvas, because the hips are not too tight, only the leg opening by my hamstring. Hopefully that will work.

Tomorrow I'll do all my assistance and then have 4 full days of rest...much needed rest.
