The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    LOL. Baconators, hmmmm....

Thanks guys. I get more responses in here being sick than I do when I train. I feel better today, still not back to normal. I'm going to the gym either way tomorrow. If I feel good I shirt up, if I don't...well I might shirt up anyway.

Stump- I get a lot from knee wraps, but some people don't. I guess it's all about where your strengths/weaknesses are and how tight you wrap em.

    Heavy bench

    Bench press(narrow grip)

    1@135x5
    1@185x1
    1@225x1
    1@245x1
    1@285x3(4-brd)
    1@325xmiss(gay)

    (Add Phenom/no boards)

    1@335x1(threw back into the uprights)
1@365xmiss(touched, but didn't flare quick enough)

My back cramped up and I was too shot for more heavy work. Definitely was still feeling beat up from getting sick. On to some assistance.

    DB floor press(palms facing)

    1@50'sx8
    1@65'sx5
    1@75'sx16(PR/WTF?)

    Dips

    1@BWx10
    1@+45x5
    1@+90x8

That was that. I'm still a few lbs light from being sick and I definitely felt a bit weak/dehydrated still. Hopefully squatting feels a little better tomorrow.

Thanks guys. I'm feeling even better today.

    Heavy squat

Today I went to the gym knowing that at best I would have 1-2 training partners. Of course, all I could think of to do was go heavy. So, I fought myself into a gangsta-tight single-ply Metal Squatter(no V-type/no Viking). I had to cut the leg opening a little to get it all the way up, but it got there. So I started to squat by myself.

Squat(walked out of monolift/Single-ply Metal squatter)

    1@135x3
    1@225x1
    1@225x1(straps up from here)
    1@315x1

Now one of my training partners showed up(Brian) and helped me out.

    1@405x1(belt)

Decided I wanted to go heavier, so we put chains on the monolift and set them up so they would catch me a few inches below parallel if I happened to miss. Took the next attempts out of the monolift/no walkout.

1@505xmiss(Bar slipped and lost balance on the decent/regained balance and racked it)
    1@505x1(PR w/no knee wrap)

2nd training partner showed up just to help(Andrew).

    Squats(raw-diggity/no belt)

    1@135x3
    1@185x3
    1@225x8
    1@235x8

    Abs w/bands- 2 sets

Then Brian helped me with some stretches for my tight-ass hips. Felt pretty good, I think I need to do those more often. I was very happy with this session. I think I may use this suit for the meet instead of the denim briefs. I think I had another 30 or so lbs in me without a knee wrap. I get a lot from knee wraps, so I definitely think I could have a shot at 600 in this suit. I was able to get the straps up myself, so I'm not sure if I should pinch them or not. I'm worried it might screw my form up if I do. I'll have to talk to the gear gurus. The raw work felt good at the end too. I'll work those up every other week. The other week I will use a belt and maybe a loose wrap. I could have gotten a few more reps on each set and every rep was pretty deep.

Strong single ply work. **** that must be tight if you needed to cut the leg seems.

You sure were crazy to be curling away!

I bet these were done in the rack as well...but knowing you the bands were added for the extra tension

You need to go and answer my thread on the Metal sizing problems in the pling forum.
