    Sid- no clue. We have a few different size chains. Some weigh 20 lbs and some a little less. There are still a few links on the floor when I lockout sumo, so it is impossible to tell what they add. I like how they feel though.

    First full-range shirt workout since late November and although it sucked, I guess I'm happy to still be able to hit anything. I had minimal to no shoulder pain on any of those reps and they all touched, so that was a good thing. Now I'm just even weaker than I was, lol. If the shoulder thing never happened I was hoping to be going for 400 at this meet. Now I am hoping I can go for 365-375. The good thing is I feel I can open with 335-345 no problem...as long as I can touch it. Another bonus is that the bench at the Iron Aslum meets is awesome and my arch is usually better there. My benches usually go better there than at the gym, so that should work in my favor. I'll see if I can get my triceps up to par in the next few weeks.

    Felt weak and beat up today, so I didn't go too heavy. The bar slid down my back on the first 605, so we cut the straps thin so I could feel it on my back better. The second single was a little deeper and came up easier. Next week if I'm feeling good I'll probably put knee wraps on and try and figure out my opener and second attempt.

    True, but I get a wicked pump from these bodybuilder workouts(Sunday and Monday). I was looking as big as my tiny 167 lb body could look at the end of today's session. Even rocked the 'beater for a little at the gym today.

    I did some box squats and deadlifts on Tuesday. Nothing too crazy. I tried pulling in an Inzer hardcore, but didn't like it. Then I just stayed in the gym and got very little accomplished.

    Decided to shut it down there and leave with everything feeling good. I walked in tonight and before I started shirt benching, my buddy Andrew puulled out a Phenom that had been tried by a few people on the team, but didn't fit anyone right. It was real tight in the chest and a little loose in the arms. It had great pop though. CT is gonna pinch the sleeves for me and I will use this shirt in the meet.I think I should be able to comfortably open with 345-355 at the meet if I feel good.

    Friday night I squatted. It was very uneventful. I only took 1 rep of 455 in my canvas and the legs were just too damn tight. I put on a few lbs and it just wasn't gonna work. I slid a single ply Fusion over the briefs instead and hit 345 with blue and green bands pretty easy. I then unracked 435 with the same bands, but the bar wasn't set right and I decided to come up right away and just shut it down. I have a new suit on the way. I will either be using the new one at the meet or hopefully dropping a few lbs back to 165 will allow me to fit better into my canvas. I am going to try and stretch out the legs of the suit a little just in case. Tonight I benched by myself.

    Today was my last deadlift day before the meet. It went real well and I managed a PR double. I think I am strong enough to hit a PR in the meet, as long as I am still feeling good after squats and bench. I wore my suit and briefs backwards and it felt real tight. I have seen people do this and tried it once before in a different suit. Tonight it felt much better so I will use it that way at the meet.

    Got my bodybuilder pump going today. I weighed 170 after today's workout. I really have to start weighing myself in the morning to make sure I am on track for weigh-ins. The meet is in 10 days and I will be weighing in the morning of the meet(I'll be getting up there late the night before).

    On a side note. My new squat suit came today and it looks nasty. I have no idea if I'll be able to wear the Ace briefs under it, but if I do I'll probably have to squat something nasty just to get down.


    2 real sessions left. Shirt bench tomorrow and squats on Friday or Saturday(depending on when I'll have people to squat with). Then I'll just chill out next week with some real light stuff.

    Tonight was supposed to be my last shirt workout, but since East End Barbell was closed, I trained at the other gym and went raw. Luckily, a few of my friends were there for a liftoff/spot. Everything felt pretty good, other than the floor presses. I went up to opener territory on lockouts just to feel the weight in my hands. As long as warmups feel good I should be opening between 335-355 depending on what I feel I can touch. If I can go 345-365-375/385 for attempts I'd be very happy(considering this training cycle). So we'll see what happens next week.


    Tomorrow I will rest and then Saturday I will be testing out my Ace suit.

    The Ace is a nasty suit! I ordered a stock size 46 and it fits amazing. It is snug in the torso, tight in the hips and tight in the legs, but not too tight. With the thick Ace briefs under it it was turning my legs an ugly shade of purple. Once I put the thin single-ply briefs in there it was perfect. I had the straps on moderate, we could definitely make them much tighter. Even with that I could barely squeeze down to parallel with 665, but it came up no problem.


    So I've made a decision. It's all or nothing at this meet. If I feel semi-normal during warmups, I am going to open with a PR(655-665) and just squeeze it down. As long as things go well I will go right to 700+ for my second so I have two chances at it. I really am doing the meet for two reasons. One is to have a good time and the other is to hit PR's. Opening with 600 in the squat won't help me with either of those. So I'm gonna roll the dice and see what happens.

    My bench shirt sleeves were tightened up as well, so if I open in that shirt I will likely be opening with a meet PR as well. Otherwise I can open in the looser shirt and then put the tight one on for my second attempt. At least I have options at this meet.
