    With the exception of playing a sport, that is the most cardio I have ever done. I am such a treamill noob I felt like I was going to fall off the thing. I wonder how fast you guys run on that thing because I kicked it up to 10.5 MPH and I started to get nervous I'd fall and bust my face so that was the top speed I hit. I'm going to try for a speed PR next time....if there is a next time.

    My left shoulder was acting up again. It started hurting out of nowhere at work and then it hurt to bench the bar on flat, incline and decline. I did whatever movement I could that didn't bother it. This is the second Thursday in a row that it hurt so I need to pinpoint what I am doing on Mon-Wed to bother it. On Monday it felt fine so I have no clue.

    Great night tonight. We only had 5 people squatting, but there was some damn fine squatting going on. CT was down and he benched. He also worked on my bad shoulder for a while before I squatted and it definitely loosened up a bit and increased my ROM in the shoulder. I hadn't put my canvas on in like 3+ months, but it felt awesome. My squatting is much more natural in canvas than it is in poly. I'm a few lbs lighter now than when I tried it last, so it fit a bit better in the legs. I'll post video of the squats later.

    My shoulder felt so much better today. I didn't do any heavy flat bench, just the speed stuff. I did inclines instead of shoulder presses and I did some extra rear/side delt work with lighter weights. I felt no pain today, so hopefully it won't act up on Thursday.

    As for the treadmill, I can run like the wind blows...just not for very long, lol.

    Tomorrow my plan is to stick to speed on the deadlifts w/bands...but we'll see if I don't go for a PR. After that I'd like to do some zercher work, maybe off pins. We shall see.

    Tonight was fun. I ditched the bands idea because I didn't feel like setting up the platform while everyone else was pulling straight weight...even though chains are even more annoying to setup, lol. The chains I was using weigh ~16-17 lbs each and the number listed is total chains, not sets. So I added two chains each attempt until it was real hard. The last set(~128 lbs of chains) was a fight to lockout, but the rest were pretty smooth. After that I just did some zerchers real quick to cover my assistance work. Those pretty much hit everything...Abs, hammies, hips, glutes, back. The pin I used kept the ROM pretty short. Next time I do them, I'll lower it down a few inches and see what I can do. I'll post some vids up tomorrow.

    This was my first time back in the shirt since my meet(6 weeks ago). Everything felt real heavy in my hands.     That was it. I wanted to do deadlifts from the top down in the power rack, but I only had one training partner so I called an audible. I hammered 545 up to lockout, but could not get my shoulders back. Grip felt fine and the bar literally didn't have to go any higher. My damn shoulders were just pitched forward a little bit and I couldn't squeeze them back. Very annoying. After all that I hit a 495 conventional and just missed a PR attempt with 510. If I had done the convenional stuff first, I definitely had a PR in me.

    I had a rough past few days. Physically I have felt pretty good, but mentally I might as well be dead. I've been a zombie and it's almost been two months and I am really not doing well with the break up with my ex. I know, I sound like a big homo, but I can't change how I feel It sucks. Anyhooooo, I Benched on Friday and did some reverse band presses both full range and off boards. I didn't feel great on them and I don't think I liked the band setup. After grinding out a few reps off a 2-board and off a 4-board I took the bands off. I ended up doing some full range singles with straight weight just to see how it felt. I hit 225 easier than I have ever done it before and then I hit 255 pretty strong. That either matches my all-time PR fresh or beats it by 5 lbs. I've been doing a lot of raw work for the past few months, but I was always alone so with no handoff I was not going so heavy. It felt good to put that weight up fairly easy, even though it's still weaksauce. At least it leads me to believe that I could get up to 275 pretty shortly if I keep at it and take single more fresh.


    Saturday, went to the gym to squat. Hot as hell, put all the gear on. Worked up to 615x1 straps up/no wraps. Wasn't horrible, but didn't feel great and I literally couldn't concentrate on what I was doing. I did not want to risk injuring myself or hurting one of my spotters, so I shut it down. I stuck around and watched CT smoke 915 and then I bounced. Went out with my friends, got hammered, felt better for a while and then of course felt worse. Defintely not a high point in my life.

    As much as I sound like a depressed loser right now, I am very grateful to have such good friends and family. They are all there for me no matter what I need. Without them and lifting, I really don't know what my days would consist of, but it would be ugly. Now, I'm off to the gym to get back on track.

    Speed felt good today. The incline dumbells were a little too heavy this week. I think I will start lower next week and do what I saw Bernor doing this past week. He took a weight and did 3 sets of 12-15 reps with it to pre-exhaust and then he took one more set with the same weight to failure. I'm gonna see how that feels.

    Tomorrow I am going to skip my normal heavy deadlift session and instead do a heavy back session. Rows, Chins and probably rack pulls.

    I really don't like pulling with no chalk and a crappy bar. I have to use straps on 405+ and I can't take my air before I go down to grip the bar like I normally do. This screws me all up and I don't get as tight which makes me round more than usual. 495 felt harder than I expected so I didn't go for a PR single. Next week I'll be back on the deadlift platform(with the couch) and pulling more my normal style.

    Just trying to get some decent volume in without taxing myself with heavy stuff. Everything felt pretty good today. Tomorrow I should do something similar for lower body. Light stuff, with some decent volume.Then my heavy sessions will be Friday/Saturday.


    Finally weighed myself in the morning and I was 168. I'd like to stay right around here and get as strong as possible. That way, I won't really have to drop any weight to compete @165. Once I hit a decent total my goal will be to move up to a full 181, but the same way I am doing it now(healthier than before).

    Felt pretty good tonight. I kept the reps lower on the leg stuff because I knew I'd get pretty sore if I did them higher and I want to squat on Saturday. My raw squat groove is horrendous right now, but I didn't have any pain in my hips which was a good sign. That was probably the second time I did a calf movement in about 4 years. They should be sore even though I kept it light.
