    why do you weigh so little and lift so much...gain some weight so i don't feel so bad!

    Nice work! I thought I remember hearing somewhere that Louie Simmons said band work with DL is worthless...obviously you don't agree. I may have to try and attach some bands next time!

    Don't think Lou said this. If you watch westside videos or read articles he's talking about bands generating speed in the deadlift.

    Also does a lot of rack pulls with bands

    Lone: I think it was related to training for RAW deadlift...but perhaps I am wrong.

    Question #2: First time doing band squats today. I used 2-75lb bands so 150lb total band resistance for squats with weight on bar equaling 225, 275, 315; Sets of 2 reps...Is that too much tension for that much weight?

    I think that is the first time I have ever tried 3 plates on dips. Setting up is a bitch and they were swaying which was annoying.

    Since the plan is to try and train raw for a while...I will be trying to focus on and increase my raw bench and OH presses. I will play with my assistance work until I figure out what works/what I like.

    Squat max is around 400. (Plan to max in 7 weeks) I was performing ME squats. Bands were looped through themselves around a dumbbell handle. Current goals are to maintain/increase strength while dropping 10 lbs. Honestly just trying to pick your brain and learn some more...

    With ME squats I say there is no real "right" amount of band tension. I have used over 50% of my max squat in just band tension alone with great results. I wouldn't do that too often, but thrown in every once in a while it'll really make weights feel light as hell on your back.

    Tried for a PR with no belt today. I was training by myself with a regular gym bar and no baby powder. I was actually pleased at how it moved from the floor to above the knees...then I got kinda shaky. I think my abs are getting weaker...perhaps from not squatting heavy all the time like I used to. I am going to make sure to hit them hard and try and get some heavy weights on my back when I can. I think my best set of 5 with no belt is like 445 with a DL bar and powder, so the downset wasn't bad.

    Thanks for the info. As long as my lifts go up I won't worry about it too much. I'll probably use it for ME squats every 2-3 weeks. Going to try DE squats tomorrow with the same tension, but only about 185 on the bar for 6x3.

    Any ideas on a deadlift setup with bands? I have no platform to set db's on the sides of and I don't want the band tension flinging the db's around. My gym sucks for PL'ing.

    Yea it tough in some places. Maybe see if there is a rack you can somehow set the bands up in.

    Add some beer pong to that and you are right...only things did go slightly wrong, lol. Got into a bit of an altercation after drinking at my family party for ~8 hrs. My gf's ex has kinda been annoying/harrassing her via text messages for the past few weeks. I was trying to let it slide hoping he would start to get over her and move on, but he was doing it during my family party and I started to respond back to him.     Benching felt better than I expected today. My back was still smoked from Tuesday's pulls, but I managed to hit a rep PR with 2 plates with no handoff or spot. The 6th rep was strong...with a spotter I def would have had a good shot at 7. Slowly but surely I will get my raw bench up.
