    1/25/09 Squat day

I did not do squats today because I didn't f'ing feel like it. No excuses. I will squat and dl on Tuesday. Billy Mimnaugh told to me always take a day off if I feel like it. He says taking days off keeps you hardcore. Right Billy

I am so anxious to compete. I find myself pacing around like caged animal. It's going to be a long two weeks. Plus, my little 8 year old rottie has been experiencing some pain in her shoulders. I told her gettin old sucks. I know.

Do you ever give your dog anything for her joints?

Our vet recommended Rimadyl for our lab - it's made a huge difference in her hips.

    Thats what I was thinking.

You have to follow the vets script though. I've known several people, who for whatever reason would give an extra pill here and there because they thought they were helping their dog out. Not so good on the dogs kidneys and liver LOL. If you follow the scrip though, it does make a pretty big difference.

Thanks guys, she was on Rymadil for ten days and she did great. I know that stuff is strong though. She is doing fine right now. We are taking her in for bloodwork tomorrow and then xrays on Friday. Just going to keep positive thoughts for the pooch.

It sucks when your dog is in pain. Give her some of the blue heat.

I had a dog once that tore his ACL and kept running on it for two weeks before he started to whine a lot. I felt like the lousiest person in the world, but that dumb dog was just so darn tough! I had no idea.

I got it repaired, rehabbed it and he was fine. He's running around on a farm back in MI, happy as a clam. Had to sell him when I moved to grad school.

Crazy dog looks like she's never had a pain in her life today. Took her to the vet for blood work. She couldn't have been happier. She's insane. XRays on Friday.

Alrighty folks, I BOMBED my meet. I could not touch 825. I have never been so embarrassed. Even worse I tried to crank my wrists back to touch. I thought I was going to break both wrists. I ended up straining a tendon in one of them. Well, as any moronic powerlifter would do, I added more weight in hopes that I would touch. I was really nervous with how my wrists felt so I took the weight way high on my chest and did not touch 860 either. I knew then to not even attempt a third.

So what did I learn, well having this and my personal journal is very telling. When I did my 825 to the chest for two singles around 6 weeks ago I was 296. I weighed in at the meet at 308.5. That makes a difference in the gear for sure. I have clearly also used the time in between to get lazy with my diet, cardio, and gpp. So I have begun watching my diet today. I took a walk outside yesterday and today. I will continue with walks and will add in gpp hopefully this Wednesday. I will not press for about two weeks to let my wrist heal up. However, I will squat this Sunday. Hopefully I will be able to trap bar dl next Tuesday.

I am going to do everything right and hit another meet hopefully in the not too distant future. I am too strong right now to let this get to me.

Thanks to Rhodes, DD, Josh, and Kenny for making the trip out to help. Sorry if I let you down. Also, thanks to everyone here at WBB for your support. You have all been great to me. Travis thanks for the pm of encouragement. I needed it.
