The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Yeah, I am developing a new plan to do that same thing. Will probably start that in April and run it to the end of June. Best training cycle I ever had. I am going to use reverse band presses, bench with chains, bench with bands, and straight weight all in the shirt as my exercises. I was also thinking about trying a floor press in the shirt. Gotta feel out the new gym first.

Glad the mentality from that cycle/article is helping you.

Yeah man, it has really helped me focus more on my training, and training smart. I see a lot of people fail on a weight, and I think to myself, let's be smart and choose a weight that will push us to the limit, but still hit my target.

Thanks for the help and check out my log because I am always looking for suggestions. Keep up the good work!

    20 minute walk outside
    3 x 5 tire flips

I picked up the tire today at a tractor tire place. They could not have been cooler. The place is named Bandag in Stratford CT if anyone in the area wants one. They told me to come back and take as many as I wanted.

I like flipping the tire because it is works the whole body pretty well, plus it gets me breathing heavily quickly. I really don't want to spend more than 5 minutes on GPP, but I want it to be difficult. Tire flipping rocks!

Took it easy today. No deadlift. Saving myself for training at the compound this weekend.

I'm off to the Ellitefts compound today with Rhodes for some training. Hopefully I can convice Kroc to stop calling his arms guns. I should come back with some good stories. Last time we hung out with Dave and Jim there was a running video. Those are now known as the lost files. Those will never EVER get posted anywhere. Perhaps a little video diary of the trip is in order.

Weekend at Elitefts compound. First of all we stayed with The Jim Wendler Damnit! He is awesome and so is his lady friend Leigh an. They were so hospitable. I recommend casa de muerte highly. Anyway, I am beat. I will post on the antics later. For right now the training numbers.

Friday benched with Rhodes. I hit a very comfortable 825 to the chest with the SDP. I FINALLY think I have a few things figured out.

Saturday I squatted with Dave Tate. We squatted off a super high box with that crazy spider bar. Joey Smith squatted with us. Dave hid his briefs under his sweats I think he's a frustrated strongman. He hit around 670 for 9. He knew I would not attempt anything more than 1 so he thinks he won. I went up to 850 for a single with no briefs, wraps or any other of that gay gear. Matt Kroc even cheered me on. Very cool. Phil Harrington coached me a bit. I am used to parrallel and a bar that does not swing like stripper on a pole. I think I would have been good for a grand but Rhodes intelligently made me stop.

    Trap bar deadlift 345/395/435x3

I'll dish some of the fun details later. I'm too beat right now. Benching, squatting, and deadlifting all within 24 hrs wore me out.
