I enjoy GPP so much more when I change it up. The tire throws are a nice addition. There will be one in the strongman comp I am doing this July.

Tire throws! Hell yeah! I love doing those sometimes. I'm pretty good at it, too. Must be my crazy discus-throwing technique.

One of our partners just broke both the bones in his forearm benching in a comp. It was pretty f'd up. My body is beat up and my mind is not in the right place. I have taken a few days off.

I hurt like a bitch. My arms are f'ing killing me. I am not used to training biceps at all and now training part time for strongman I am using them all the time. I feel like I have f''ing polio. Plus I spent all Friday loading plates in a warm up room at meet. Looks like lots of DMSO, ice, stretching, and ibuprofin.

Thanks guys. When I started speed about 3-4 months ago 225x3 actually felt pretty awful. I went down to 185. Once my body adapted I started moving up the weight. Now 315 feels pretty easy. I think next week I will go 225x3 (2 sets), 275x3 (2 sets), 315x3 (2 sets), 365 x3 (2 sets). I definitely like ramping up the weight as opposed to just starting and finishing with the same weight.
Do you incorporate a lot of bands or chains in the speed work? I noticed that the band tension really took a toll on my shoulders.

We need to get a video of some of these curls.
2" Axle clean and press did about 11 sets working on form and went up to 250. This should come around.
Farmers walk 115 each hand for 100+ feet with one turn. 205 each hand for 100+ feet with one turn. Yeah I almost broke my wrist on this one. I must have missed physics class one day in h.s. where this got explained. At the completion of the second set I dropped the weights--they stopped and I kept going. I tripped over the plates and went into the ground like a missile. I stopped myself with my left hand. I should have stopped my fall with my face. I don't need my face to bench. My wrist is still f'd up today. I'm sure I strained the ligaments. Lots of ice and ibuprofen.
Trap bar dl on blocks 675x5 (my wrist hurt--I could have done more).
