Just really beat up. I'm starting to get sick of feeling this way. Something has got to give. A lot of it is my pecs, but the knees and the low back are aggravated also. I do massage, stretching, icing, contrast showers, extra workouts, gpp, etc. I'm sure I sound like a baby, but that's how I feel. I'm just kind of laying back reevaluating things. I think I need a routine change. Might just be age, who knows.

    11/27

    -Various warmup activities
    -Bench to foam roller 135x10, 225x5, 315x3, 405x1, 495x1 removed foam roller added 66 Ace bench shirt 585x1, 675x1, 735x1, 765x0
    -Floor presses 315x6, 405x6, 405x10
    -Pulldowns to belly 100x15, 150x15
    -Dumbell rows 100 2x10
    -Face pulls 50 2x10
    -Cable rope curls 50 2x10
    -Reverse dumbell curls 20 2x10
    -Key Presses 40x10, 60x10

Pecs were killing me the whole workout. 495 felt heavy, knew it was going to be a tough one after that. Found a good groove with the shirt. All went well until the 765. It was just too heavy. I established a pr in the 66 Ace, so that is that.

    11/28

    -SSB Box Squats 115x5, 155x5, 205x5, 245x5, 295x5, 335x5, 390x5
    -SS band gm's w/crunches 3x15

    11/29

-30 minute walk with 40 lb weight vest

Did lots of stretching, icing, and contrast showers all weekend. Don't feel much better as a result.

Good news, I have made it into Muscle and Fitness again. I am quoted on page 85 of the January issue regarding motivation. It was lost in translation a bit, but it talks about training alone. Now I do train alone the majority of the time, however, I could not have achieved what I have without the great crew I train with on Friday nights.

My picture made it a few months earlier, now my name. One day, maybe my name and a picture will make it together.

Just wait until your name is signed off on a bench routine that you have never performed.

1 X out of 1 (diet and training)

    Bench assistance

    -T bar rows barx10, 45x10, 90x10, 115x10, 135x10, 160x10, 160x10
    -Band assited pullups 3x10
    -Trap bar shrugs 135x15, 225x15, 225x15
    -Cambered bar curls 10x10, 25x10, 45x10, 50x10, 50x10

-Light stretch upper and lower. Traction on right arm/shoulder

So that's my training for the day. I took it light today. I got an email from Mayor Rhodes telling me to follow this program. It's pretty much what I used to do when I first benched 800. It's a bench day, a back day, and a leg day (I used to shoulder press on the back day, but I am going to do it on bench day for now). I'm going to throw a few extra workouts in and continue with gpp. I am going to run it to the Lexen and see what happens.

There are less exercises in this program so my plan will be to ramp up the weights and get back to heavy lifting all around.

My shoulder bothered me on the trap bar shrugs. It was a weird pulling sensation. It went from my collarbone down the front of my delt. Anyone have any idea about that, please let a brother know.

Sounds like an AC joint thing my friend. I've had that before. Really odd feeling.

I can't remember for sure, but I think some ice and ibuprofen is what helped me.

Do you have an ice pack you use, or is it normally ice massage?

Ice massage is really helpful, but constant cold compress is often what is needed. I got a shoulder ice thing from Dave a couple years ago that I love using. Makes it so I can throw it on after my workout and still go around the house and do what I need to.

Thanks Trav. I have big ice packs. I'll take one and plastic wrap it on there after training. I usually just stuff them under my t shirt. I know I have had Jess ace bandage them on a few times and the compression definitely feels different. It reall is an odd feeling. It doesn't really hurt as much as it feels like something bad could happen.

    Recovery
    -Contrast shower
    -Iced pecs and shoulders

Had a great workout tonight. I am embracing my new program. Finally got a chance to bust out my new EFS short bands. They were awesome. No more messing around setting up long bands to bench.

I got a fair amount of volume in as far as I'm concerned. We took some time to figure out the shirt tonight, that's why all the singles with the same weight to the 1 board. I think we finally figured it out on the 3rd try and then I took it to the chest. I actually felt like it was my best rep. I know it was not an incredible amount of weight, but I'm just pleased my form is good. The strength is there, I just have to stay on track.

I got the rest of my pressing work in. Boards felt great. They have been aggravating my pec lately, but I think that was a form thing. For a while I have been working close grip and almost working straight up and down. I used my comp bench form tonight and all felt great. Lockout can be my weakness so I'll be working these a lot either raw or equipped. I used the fat bar for shoulder pressing, not a great idea. The fat bar is awesome for so many exercises, but that thing just wanted to roll on ohp's.

Wrists and my right shoulder are tweaked, but that's part of the game. I must stay on top of my recovery practices.

Thanks to DD, Josh, Drew, Cristen, and Brian for their help tonight. Good training partners are such a great help.

Your bar speed has always made my jaw drop Vinnie. How much would you say those short bands added to the top of the lift?

    awesome work vinny.

im looking to try a new shirt, been using a grid stiched double rage x for about a year now. i feel that this shirt gives nothing after a 3 board no matter how tight it is. how do you like the metal shirts? might give one a try.

also, could you reccomend anything to me for keeping my ass down? i just bombed out at the Christmas Classic due to my ass coming up twice.
