The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

My Econo Prolwer showed up last night while I was at the gym. Could not wait to put it together today. It's so simple it does not even need directions. It's a very well made piece of equipment.

Once together I just threw 2 25's on there and started to push it in my backyard. Yeah, this thing is so different than a sled. I can tell we are going to become very close. It was raining and the ground was soaked, so I did not wnat to rip up the lawn. I took 6 trips and that was enough. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Got a little extra work in today. My extra workouts are going to be very light and very fast. I need to go super light with my biceps. My repaired bicep has never felt 100% again and the other suffered a partial tear and I am still feeling that as well.

The body feels pretty good from yesterday's bench session. I feel like things are getting dialed in.

also, could you reccomend anything to me for keeping my ass down? i just bombed out at the Christmas Classic due to my ass coming up twice.
I never liked the Rage X. The chest plate was way too small for me. I am really starting to like the Ace. It's made from serious material and has good adjustability. That said, I have really been taking my time to learn the shirt.

When it comes down to it, I can really only tell people what works for me. What will work for you might be different. I do know what does not work, chasing after the best shirt. There are a lot of good shirts out there now. Find one you are comfortable in, learn it, and work it.

As far as keeping your ass down, try moving your feet wider. Make sure you force your knees out through the descent as well as the press. If your butt is still coming up, try getting your feet out in front of you more. So experiement with moving them wider and or out. Otherwise get a bigger ass.

Oh yeah, do not forget to take some benches in your singlet at the gym. We had two guys recently bomb from lifting their butts. They appeared fine at the gym, but we did not take into consideration that shorts or sweats are baggier than a singlet. That little bit of material makes a big difference.

Benching looks strong Vin. I hate using bands in the shirt. Beats up my joints and wrists so bad it takes me 2 weeks to recover. I probably should use them more often though, judging my the speed of every bench I've ever seen you do, they help tremendously.

Thanks for the reply, i went to the gym yesterday and worked on form a bit and putting my feet way back on the balls of my feet seemed to help, as far as the shirt, i probably have to work at it like you said.

A good solution would be to use bands in your shirt the last week right before a deload.

I think it's from time under the bar. Don't forget, I'm getting older, I cannot recuperate from constant pounding. Years ago I'd put 7 plates on for something around 3 reps, but I don't know if that necessarily helps my bench. Maybe it's the past work that helps my bench now. Also, I keep good form. There is no jerking of the weight.

I really don't have a good answer for you. I just do what I do and keep looking forward to Friday night benching.

Not a bad solution at all... I may throw these in. I have 2 shirted weeks coming up. Maybe throw them in the second week.

Nice cardio work lately Vin. It's gotta feel good to be getting in that kind of shape. Keeping your strength up will be important. So far, it's been very impressive.

If you want to train with us, you must spot like this. I'm actually hoping this is how Karsten will give me my next liftoff. My favorite part is the guy's socks.

    Conditioning
-25 minute walk with 20 lb. weight vest

I'm changing the x's for my diet and exericse. I get a / for exercise and the other \ for taking my supplements and shakes. My treadmill has not been fixed yet and I don't feel like lowering my cals to hit the 275's. I'm 296 and with the holidays coming, I just don't care to cut right now. So I am going to continue to eat clean, but if I pack a few on I don't really care right now. I plan to stick around 300. I won't let myself get over 305.

    Warm up
-Medicine ball roll on upper and foam roller on lower and back
-Jumping jacks, y jumping jacks, and crossover jumping jacks all 3 x 10
-Bodyweight squats, push ups, and fat man pullups all 3 x 10
    -Medicine ball slams x 10

    Training
    -Bench bar x50, 2 chains x5, 4 chains x3, 10 chains x3, 135+10 chains x3, 225+10 chains x2, 315 +10 chains x1, 405 +10 chains x1, Add Metal Ace bench shirt 495 +10 chains off 2 board x1, 545 +10 chains off 1 board x1, 585 +10 chains full range x1
    -3 board press 405x5, 495x5
    -Standing dumbell ohp 60x10, 80x10, 100x10
    -Rolling dumbell tricep extensions 35x10, 45x10, 55x10

    Recovery
    -Iced pecs/shoulders
    -Contrast shower

My body is definitely responding well to only benching once a week. I got some good work in this week. I was pleased with the raw press considering I am not training for raw. I have worked this loose shirt pretty well. This was three weeks in a row. I'm definitely ready for a deload next week. After that it's into a tighter shirt. I'll be excited to get more support. This shirt goes on in 2 seconds.

Assistance was fine. I was going to take 3 sets on board presses, then I figured why bother with the 455, just jump to the 495 and finish in two sets. The dumbell shoulder presses were light. There's only 100's in the gym. Finished with rolling dumbell tricep extensions and then it was time for shakes and post workout chit chat.

I bet big Tee that Mir would take out Kongo tomorrow night on the UFC card. I already owe Tee 4 dinners from past bets, plus we have a bonus on this fight. If I lose this one I'll have to take out a second mortgage to buy all those dinners for the massive land mammal. Otherwise, we all just picked on one another like usual. Gotta say good liftoffs by DD. He did all but one on his own. I'm helping him build his deadlift. Lastly, good luck to our boy Josh doing his first strongman.

Looking forward to the UFC fights tonight. Mir came in just under the 265 limit and looks good. He's been training with strongman Mark Philipi.

Good news, my brother is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery.

Good news on your brother Vincent!

I agree that Mir is going to lose. We will see. If he is just under 265 lbs he has definitely put on some size...

No, I think Mir is going to win. He weighed in at 264.5. He realized after getting rag dolled by Brock that he had to get bigger and stronger if he wanted to come back to beat him.
