    Ran out of steam?

I had a milk/ON whey shake and half a poptart about an hour before my workout today. I felt especially awesome during my chest routine, but then fell on my face when I got to my back movements. Grip strength went to crap, intensity went to crap, no pep. Did I run out of t3h 5ugArs or what?

Probably just one of those days when you are low on sugar. I've had the same thing. One thing you should try is stop your workout and go and eat something like a candy bar then just rest for a few minutes, you will get a sudden burst of energy and you can then return to your routine.
    This works for me.

I should have gotten the candy and eaten it while this girl finished her deadlifts with the bare bar.

Well if you train chest and back intensly and heavy. You'll find you'll just run out of gas. My suggestion is Do a major part of your chest then major back movement.
    Ex:
    Incline BB
    BB rows
    Flat BB
    DB rows
    DB flies
    Machine Rows

Or whatever you do for your chest and back.

I think I may try that as well. Would you recommend starting out with dead lifts then?

I always begin my workout with the most taxing excersise (i.e. deadlifts, squats,... whatever is hardest for the day). It helps you prevent injury and gives you the most energy for the big lifts.

Wow, I screwed my lower back up too. Note to self: give up more easily.
