The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

damn dude I know the feeling of working those ridiculous hours. try to take it easy on yourself if you can.. though I know when you have no other options there's no such thing. Maybe try only lifting on off days so you can hit whatever you're doing that day with as much energy as possible? Truck looks pretty sweet.

Jed, I just spent 15 minutes catching up on you. Sucks about the long hours. I only work like 4 a day and I still complain about working out... haha. Good on ya for getting stuff in tho. There is definitely a lot of stuff you can do with out weights, it may not make you move bigger weigh, but you're endurance will definitely improve.

Just some other things to try too:

Wall sits, Air squats held at the bottom for as long as you can, one leg calf raises on the edge of a step, Hand stand push ups, Lateral and front raises (with a milk jug like you did), Kettlebell work (just use a milk jug), etc etc

And keep in mind, you can make that jug heavier by filling it with rocks and pebbles as well. Get yourself 5 milk jugs and fill them with different size rocks/pebbles. The smaller the rocks, the heavier the jug.

spose i owe myself and anyone else who cares an explination for no workouts in like a week straight... my best friend is leaving for the USMC sunday, so ive been hanging out with him every spare minute i can manage lately. after he leaves i really think im gonna start workin out again, cause i wont be doing anything with him anymore for 3 months. ill probably just turn into a depressed basement dweller who lifts milk jugs and punches bags and goes to work in the morning, lol.

but as always, i honestly appreciate your guys continued support. ive totally fallen apart the past month or two and yall still got my back... i really do love the support, you guys are great.

Workouts can't always be at the forefront - you'll be fine, just get a session in here & there no matter what.

3 days of being drunk, is that a new PR? Sorry your bud has taken off bro, best of luck and all to him. When do you leave for college and do you have a rec center and all that where you are going?

That's quite a bit of work, man. Good numbers on the handstand pushups and pullups, damn. I can believe it that you almost puked after that one, lol. Those workouts might yield better results than you think, bro. Keep em' coming until you can get into a gym with some weights.

wow. lifted tonight. forgot how AWESOME it was. i am at home when i am lifting... numbers tonight were by no means impressive, but it felt amazing.

    bench : 135 warmup, 185x10, 205x8, 225x6... keeping up with you keph

single leg calves : BW 6x12

    pullups : BW x12, x10, x8 (fatigue)

    GHR situps : 3x12

    DB cleans : 20 lb 3x10... *puke*

    DB bench : 50 lb 3x10

    BW : 190!!!!!!!!

and DONE. WOW! keph - u were totally right... the cleans destroyed me and i love them. i will include them more often! i am surprised that my bodyweight was 190 still. that leads me to beleive that i am indeed a clean lean 190 lbs. i have little visible fat on me at the moment. this really is probably still the best physique i have flaunted my whole life now that i am even leaner than in soccer season. i loved this workout, and i think i will start doin what K's doing and add more of the higher rep type stuff, because i LOVED this workout. thanks for the support guys.

Good stuff jed. I just read that article about how the Parkersburg coach was killed recently, in the new issue of SI. Thats a really sad story bro. I know your not in parkersburg, but i'm sure it impacted you in some way?

kill, xen, coke - thanks my brothers. im jacked i got one in

dan - thanks. and yeah man, us over in the whole state of iowa are lost for words. i heard about it and my heart honestly filled with rage, for someone i barely knew passing away. the man was so phenominal and such a tribute to his community, and truly a godsend straight from heaven. i could type all day about it, and he wasnt even my coach. after they beat us 42-14, i shook his hand and told him he was an excellent coach and a great man for what he did to help rebuild the town of parkersburg, and he looked at me and said i was an excellent player, we gave them more of a game than the score shows, and that he wishes us the best of luck with the rest of the season. i will from now on remember that moment for hopefully the rest of my life, because i know that i shook the hand of an angel.

Awesome WO Jed. I am sure it feels great to be back at it. The 225x6 aint too shabby for being 'cold'....In fact not shabby anytime lol!

190 is heavy dood. Great that you have maintained your BW. Some folks would have emaciated.
