Nice squattin' sir. I knew you'd be piling the plates back on that bar much quicker than you thought.

Though..... enjoy it while you are in your PRIME!!.......

Thanks, mate Glad you caught my dry humour, lol. Hope to be hitting my squat goal for sure.

Went for a 2 mile jog today. Boy was that tough... Really tore me up but I took a fair pace (let's just say I wasn't WALKING) and ran for probably 25 minutes. I really don't care at the moment that that's 12.5 mins a mile, I just care that i'm getting some cardio done.

AWESOME workout... Really got my heart going and felt good all around. Form was real tight on bench and I felt secure and stable. The 285 was solid, but I am still sticking where my usual stick point is. I got it about midway and completely gassed out... luckily I was able to overcome and finish the lift clean. Rope pulldowns felt great (IDK if that's the actual name for em... got in a 'lat pull' position at about 45 degree angle and had a double handled rope and did pulldowns). Lot's of new higher rep or higher weight numbers and i'm already feelin it. 191.5 lb BW today!

Your piling on weight each week. Definitely makes getting to the gym something to look forward to. FWIW It's my understandig Kroc
Rows are meant for the highest weight you can handle for twenty to thirty reps.

    Great PR Jed!

Try doing some Flat DB presses after benching. 3 or 4 sets of ten. Bing them down low and really focus on driving them up explosively. That should help to break through that sticking point.

I agree with Flynn...and maybe try some heavy DB floor presses too. See if either help. That and maybe boards...?

Awesome work on that bench bro! That entire workout was crazy. Don't worry bout the stick point. You'll always have a sticking point somewhere in the midpoint. Just the mechanics of the lift. Just keep going with it and cycle in your floor-press to help things out. Speed work helps a lot too. BTW, those pictures of the ice storm are incredible. Good stuff, bro. Hope everything is going well for you, it sounds like you are in a much better place.

Dude, your bench is just sick! Getting really close to your PR now and that much closer to 300. Completely agree with Kiaran with regards to sticking point and breaking through it.

john o - Apprecite the words and you stopping in.

Flynner - Hey man, good idea. I will keep doing DB presses. My form is fairly strict like you mention but will focus more on explosiveness. Thanks for the words.

Borrachy - Thanks for the suggestions, but sadly there's no one in the place I lift with that I can trust or even want to bother with having them hold boards for me. And I considered heavy DB floors, but would they need to be like 150 lb? Cause no way I can lift that to get it set. (I regular DB press like 80s)

Keph - Thanks for the words, man! Hope all is well with you. I understand with the stick point and that's nice to know - I thought it was just some people. I'm going to start a FP cycle again next week. And I'm not neglecting speed bench, just wanted to throw a Rep Effort DE bench day in to mix it up. Yeah, man, the ice storms are sweet huh? Surprised you don't get anything like that in Colorado.

Keith - Yeah bro i'm pretty psyched... Can't wait to hit 3 bills.

Totally insane workout today... Looks (numbers) can be decieving.

    Full Squat
    Stretch
    135x6
    185x3
    225x5 +2 rep
    225x5 +5 rep
    225x5 +5 rep
    225x5 +5 rep
    225x5 +5 rep ...... WOW

    Good Mornings
    135x10
    135x10

    Leg Extension
    80x10
    80x10
    80x10

    Hack Squat
    135x10
    135x10....*puke*

    Hanging Straight Leg Raise
    BWx10
    BWx10
    BWx10

    BW : 191.6

O M G. That workout was literally the best workout I have had in months. "Feeling" wise... I was so sweaty, stinky; heart was going constantly through the whole workout, trouble breathing, veins sticking out everywhere on every rep, every muscle in my legs ready to give up and die but fought through it. This was awesome, fellas. Huge "PR" on squats considering 3 or 4 (?) weeks ago I squatted 225 for 3 reps and that was my maximum. I can't beleive that it's shot up this fast already. I was going to do lunges but replaced with hack squats because there's no room to do walking BB lunges in there. The hack squats were absolutely brutal. It's hilarious to think back now... I was pulling 135 little pounds off the ground and grunting like a wildebeast, veins were coming out of places I had no idea could come out of, sweat dripping from every pore in my body... just for 20 reps of 135. Amazing. I regret forgetting and letting slip the feeling of how much that I absolutely love lifting weights, and am so glad God has blessed me with this website and you people to get me back in to my one thing that I was so passionate for. I am looking forward to seeing what will become of myself if I continue work out out with this intensity and motivation.

Paul - Haha, F you bro... Hoping to start repping 315 in the coming months.

Coke - Thanks as always bro.

Just looked through all 36 pages of my journal, guys. ( I do 100 posts/page ) Man, there's some good memories back buried in there... Beleive it or not, you guys have been a big part of my life for the past 3 years. Coke, Flynn, Kiaran, Keith, Dan, Painzer, Paul, Borracho... Kill, Bako and Pulse have been AWOL... and all of my new followers and anyone else that tagged along for a while that I was blessed enough to have support me is just amazing to think about. I honestly am back to that feeling of "can't wait to get back and post this workout in WBB".

It's truly awesome how you guys viewed some little 15 year old and respected me as you did, and have continued to support and motivate me all the way through my journey so far. While I am against believing in luck most of the time, I can't help but say I am one damn lucky fellow. Looking back, I would have given up so many times without you guys. Coming back randomly after a 3-4 week stint of no lifting to see 4 or 5 posts in my journal telling me to get my pussy ass back in the weightroom, believe it or not you guys really have made a huge impact on me. I know this is a bit sappy for an 'internet forum', but damn, fellas... You're all just as real to me as my buddy that lives in a room 10 feet away from me. So I just wanted to take a second or two and let everyone know that I truly appreciate every post, every smartass remark, every motivational or supportive comment, every stupid picture or video... Cause without y'all I'd probably be 160 lbs and not touched a weight for a year.

And I noticed how f***ing hilarious my log and others used to be. We need to get that TJW humor back in here, brothers. I miss it! To remind a few who witnessed this recollection post by Dan...

I also love eggs over easy with crispy toast and FF cheese on top nom nom nom.

Its funny how when I was prepping everything sounded amazing but now I have to try to feed myself throughout the day or I fall behind on calories.

LOL, see how a great workout can make you feel? Good to see you're thinking so positively, bud. Quite a jump into a max load, don't you think? Did 2 warm-up sets then right into 225. Do you prefer lunges with a barbell or dumbbells? I highly prefer them with dumbbells.
