The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Here's an old one. My posing was not very good at this point.

I hope to put my presentation to shame next time around.

    Bodyweight bench challenge: 190 x 25

Did it this morning, right before my refeed, not to mention my pecs and shoulders were still sore from benching earlier in the week. Not as bad as I thought it'd be though, I have epicly ****ty endurance. Gonna give this another go sometime when I'm fresh, hoping for 30.

**** you, you ****** **** head! 25 is ridiculous! You should be all over the body weight challenges now.

jed, I'm not going to lie, but I LOL'd a bit when I saw your posing videos. Posing definitely isn't your strong suit lol. You're looking pretty solid, though.

Thanks Keith. It feels good, but it's just a number. Although I am happy I finally reached it.

    Stabilization Day

    Ultra Wide Squats
    45x10

    GM Squats
    45x10

    Box Squats
    45x10

    GM's
    45x10

    Bulgarian Splits
    BWx10

    Abductor Plate Slides (each)
    25x10

    Adductor Plate Slides (each)
    25x10

    Hip Flexor Plate Slides (each)
    25x10

    Hip Extensor Plate Slides (each)
    25x10

    Cable Deads
    150lb x10

    Quadrapedal Glute Ham
    BWx10

    Single Leg Calves (each)
    BWx10
    BWx10
    BWx10
    BWx10
    BWx10

This felt pretty gid dang solid... No one would be impressed by this, but that was one of the best workouts i've had for a while. Will be doing this at least once a week now because i'm working to perfect my squat and deadlift form even more. I will not, sadly, be doing anything heavy with my back until I feel comfortable with it. Strengthening and gaining flexibility in these areas is first and foremost.

Good choice, Precious. Didn't think you could be so smart at such a young age.

Smart to perfect the form for both squats and DLs Jed...and the flexibility will help enormously as well I am sure. Keep at it bud...you'll be back and passing old numbers in no time.

john o, Coke - Thanks brothers. Your support is appreciated.

AK - I agree with keeping your shirt on for your own sake, or else Keith will be crawling all over you

Keith - Are you talking to me or AK?

Bor - Thanks man, I sure as hell hope so...

    Good workout today...

    Feet Up Bench
    135x10
    185x5
    205x10... was rough.

    Full Form Bench
    225x9.5... couldn't resist.

    HB Raises
    25x10
    25x10
    25x10

    Weighted Dips
    BW+45x7
    BW+45x6
    BW+45x6

    H Rolls
    12x10
    12x10
    12x10... nice.

    Decline DB Press
    45x10
    45x8 (fail)
    45x8 (fail)

Great workout overall though... I couldn't resist throwing some full normal form in on bench. The 205 was ebarrassing after the 7th rep but I managed 10. I knew I shouldn't have done the full form but my back didn't hurt at all so I did it and hit 9.5. It has been a long time since i've hit over 7 on 225 for reps I think, so i'm very pleased with that. I would've got 10 if I didn't waste so much energy on the 205. H rolls felt supreme, forgot about those... Glad to be doing weighted dips too. I found a belt with a chain for plates in there that I hadn't noticed before. Most likely will follow up with the same stabilization workout wednesday, maybe add in some light squats.

My apologies for the inactivity lately in all the journals. I have been reading along but have been busy with class the past week, lot's of tests, scheduling for next year, and a speech I had to worry about. Also working a little bit back at the ol' tire shop which I really enjoy, it's just so far away at the moment. Will try to get around as soon as I get time.

borracho - Thanks for the props brotha. Glad it let me do something, too...

Dan - Sup bro. Glad youve decided to move home - whatever will get your ass back in the weightroom

Keef - Thanks d00dz. Yeah I am a smart one, you knew that. And what I meant by full normal form bench was bench with full form like I do normally. I've been doin feet up, but I threw in a set of normal full arched form for the 225.

john o - Thanks for the words and support, dude.

Lion - lawl, F you guys. I thought it was decent... Thanks for stopping by. Better be seeing more of you.

Coke - Thanks for the support from the start, big man.

Got a nice lift in yesterday. Was gonna do stabilization day but there was too many people over in the empty areas where I do it.

    Chins
    BWx10
    BWx8
    BWx6
    Total : 24

    Upright Rows
    EZ+50x10
    EZ+50x10
    EZ+50x10

    BW Rows
    BWx10
BWx10... These were basically half reps.

    BB Shrugs w/ Straps
    225x10
    225x10
    225x10
    225x10

    Pulldowns
    120x10
    120x10

    Kroc Rows (each)
    65x25

A great workout. I meant to do another set to fatigue of chins to get 25+ total but i'm an idiot. Haven't hit traps forever so that felt nice. The BW rows sucked... Usually I can get higher on them but I was fried from the chins I guess. Kroc rows were disgusting. Using a strap on the DB really helps with grip, so I could concentrate on killing my arms and upper back. The set of 25 was the hardest i've ever done for those, lol. Will most likely stabilize tomorrow.
