All is well, including the military presses - it's just one of those movements that takes considerable time to really get moving with.

Doing fine with everything dude. Stop by and say hello soon, been missing you.

Thanks guys. Bri, dad says it depends a lot on the teacher, like you said. His TKD teacher was very hardcore and oriented more towards sparring and self defense, but also held tournaments and stuff too naturally. This teacher at my gym has taught for like 40 years now, but all I see him with mostly is older men and women, and very young children. This tells me that most of his people are just in it to get in shape, etc. On the advert it even says "a great way to get in shape". Which it is, no doubt, but the first thing I would want to see on a martial arts advert is "learn how to defend yourself".

    Cycle 5 Week 1 555 Bench 275

    Bench
    135x6
    135x6
    180x5
    205x5
    235x8 ... vs. 240x7. Or Cycle 2 235x5.

    Chins
    BW 10
    BW 10
    BW 10
    BW 10
    BW 10

    DB Press
    60x12
    60x12
    60x12
    ... +2 rep
    60x10
    60x10

    Treadmill - 1 mile - 11:31 - 5.5 speed

Pretty damn solid workout!! Left out an accessory cause my left delt/cuff was feeling really sore, more than usual. Last thing I need is a shoulder injury, lol! My buddy got me to run on the treadmill, and it felt fu**ing awesome! Definitely going to start hitting that up more often, maybe another two times this week even. Try to increase the distance by .1 of a mile every time or something! Tired of getting this fat coming in on my sides. Running plus boxing, if I ever start, plus cleaning up my diet, will take care of that problem.

If my 240 lb ass could run a sub-8 minute mile this past summer you'd better be able to jed. Good benching though, you'll always beat me there.

Yeah kill, definitely not something I am trying to brag about. 11 minutes should be two miles easily for someone in top shape, so i'm at the bottom of the barrel there. Regardless it was a workout in itself and i'll keep at 'er.

Benching looks strong Jedley! +3 reps in a couple of cycles. Gotta be happy with that, mate.

Youre taking up boxing too? Cool.

What about the soccer? Is that no more?

Awesome work, dude. Your benching is still increasing nicely and you can still bang out a 5x10 chins. What's the body weight at right now?

I know bud. Just giving you a hard time. I'm sure if you worked on it you'd get your mile time down pretty quickly. You can still do about 50 more pullups than I can.

I had to work pretty hard to get there, and I lost 20 lbs that summer so I doubt anybody could consistently run that fast and keep that body weight and BF%.

Flynny - Thanks for the words, dudely! Thinking about boxing, yeah. Soccer is no more good sir, that was only a high school thing! Was fun while it lasted though.

Keith - 201 mate, with tennies, shorts and a T shirt. Thanks!

Bor - Yeah dude, he's a freak, eh?!

Kill - Lulz, 50 more. I have to admit, my chins are more 3/4 chins that full complete ROM lockout chins, but whatever.

Nice Squats bud...its a bitch trying to work running in to our schedules innit?
And to answer your question from my journal...i really cant complain about the gym I go to cuz its free and I'm pretty much the only one there. This is where I work, if youdidnt know. So basically im a spoiled bitch for crying about them not replacing the 100s.

265 for 11 reps makes me tired just thinking about it. Good work.

Ya man, a little cardio definitely feels good doesn't it?

You know what's fun, rather then trying to run an extra 0.1 mile at a time...which overall means you are trying to increase your endurance for, try running the same distance, only FASTER. If you do 2 miles in 16 minutes....shoot for 2 miles in 15:30....then 15....and so on! Then, for a good change start doing interval training! That will probably be better for fat loss then the long distance stuff!

Good to hear that you chose boxing too. Wise choice indeed!

    Thanks big C and killx!

Bor - yeah dude it is teh suck, but i'm only working part time now so I have enough time usually to not have an excuse to not run now...Gotcha with the gym, bro. Glad it's free, I didn't know you worked there.

Bri - Definitely feels good buddy. Whole new feeling. I went with your advice on the running today and went faster and the same distance.

Cycle 4 Week 1 Cardio Day

    Treadmill - 1 mile - 9:50 - 6.0 speed - 1 min 41 sec , +.5 speed PR

Felt great... went with Bri's advice and stayed at 1 mile but increased the speed. I would like to work my way towards a 6:30 - 7:00 mile. That'll take a lot of hard work but i'm willing to put it out there.

7 would be fantastic!!! Definitely wouldn't complain with that.

    GREAT NEWS FELLAS!!!

I applied for a Summer 2011 Internship with the United States Department of State under the Diplomatic Security Bureau about 6 months ago. Two days ago I recieved confirmation that I was selected as a primary candidate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Assuming I can pass the clearance process, I will be headed to either MIAMI, FLORIDA or WASHINGTON, D.C., our nations capitol!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is such a HUGE moment for me in my life, and I really don't think it's sank in yet. Regardless, I am revitalized (I wasn't really down before) and even more motivated with my life right now. I can't believe I am one of so few who get this chance!!!!!!!! Thanking all of you for the support you have provided throughout the years......... You have all helped shape and mold my life, even if it was in the smallest bit.

You are obviously really happy so congrats. I don't know what this internship would entail, can you give any details? CAn I assume it's a paid internship since you'd have to relocate?

It is not paid - however, I can apply for a paid one. But I doubt I would get it, as my parents make too much money. They have their own debts to pay, however, so it'll just be me paying for all of it. I don't make very much at all, but I think they look at the parents income, too. Will be extremely costly, more than i'd like to imagine spending right now, but no doubt a once in a lifetime experience and opportunity!!!!!!! Will provide more details when I get my package in the mail that tells me what, where, when, how, etc.!

    Thanks Coke!!!!!! Very excited.

    Cycle 5 Week 2 333 Squat

    Squats
    Dynamics
    45x10
    135x6
    215x5 (oops, once again)
    245x3
280x10 ... HOLY SH**. Damn, this was fantastic. Could be an all-time PR. +3 reps -5 lbs vs. 285x7

    Incline Reverse Crunches
    12
    12
    12
    12
    12

    Video

F***in fantastic stuff!!! Could be an all-time PR. Don't feel like digging through the 4000 posts to find out though, but damn this was a solid ass squat session. The 1RM calc puts that at 373. I would give myself at least 360 at the moment, which is a +40 all time PR!!! As if things weren't going well enough for me already

280x10 is +5 lbs and x10 reps more than my beginning 1RM of 275x1
