The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

M0AR F00DZ... Nice to hear from ya.

    Run 5... 59 degrees and wet (not raining). 1.5 miles @ 16:27.

I am also a new uncle as of 21 March 0721 to a 9 lb 6.8 ounce baby boy! Congrats to me.

Run 6... 58 degrees, dry and calm. "Sprint" workout today, brutal, lol.

    .5 miles jog warmup...
    Sprint 1 : .5 miles @ 3:45
    120 sec rest
    Sprint 2 : .5 miles @ 4:15
    150 sec rest
    Sprint 3 : .5 miles @ 4:45

Total time spent running : 12:45
    Total time w/ rest : 17:15

This is pretty interesting to do. Even with 4.5 minutes of rest, I only lag by 1:15 from my last 1.5 mile jog time. Once I can manage to keep this pace and eliminate the rests, I will be at my 12:51 mark.

Run 7 ... rested about 6 days since last run. Did 2 x .5 Mile sprints, about 3 mins rest in between. Finished with 2 100 Meter sprints. Busted it in TKD before running as well.

In a real nice groove these days, totally into the sprints.

What is going on with the career goals? - last I heard was the super internship you just had.

Run 8... Big run today. 2.86 miles, I wanted 3 but I screwed up my route and ended up with 2.86 instead. Able to do this nonstop at a good pace. Overall 2.86 miles @ 28:40! My 12:51 goal mark was at exactly 1.25 miles into the run... This is good news, i'm only .25 miles off from meeting my goal of 12:51. And if i were to do a 12:51 all-out, I would most likely make that time since I wouldnt have another 1.5 miles to worry about finishing after like today! 20 minute mark was at about 1.95, so my pace today was around 10:00/mile.

Coke - career goals doing well. Scored another internship this summer with Iowa's capitol, Des Moines, Police Department. One more year after finals this semester and I'm done with school as well!

Hell no dude. That diet was ridiculous. Plus it just didn't work with my lifestyle. I definitely was feeling something with it, good or bad I couldn't tell, but I hated it so I stopped. Not eating any foods that you particularly enjoy really actually made me a little depressed, except for the reload days or whatever they were called.

Heading in for elbow surgery on the 24th. Then I'm thinking about getting back into it after recovery. Need to start running for Law Enforcement testing however.

Run 11... 3.00 miles @ 30:13. Heck yeah! No stopping and kept steady pace the whole time - kicked it in another gear for the final tenth or so of a mile is all. Full 3.00 this time, no 2.85 stuff. 12:51 showed 1.27 miles. Still a bit slow.

Thanks mates. Vain - loose body inside of my elbow joint. Little chunk of bone that is getting snagged when I hyperextend/contract my tricep. Hurts pretty bad and I've been whining about it for a while on here. Finally time to get it taken care of with a little arthroscopic insertion and get back into business.

Great run today on the treadmill. Run 12... Treadmill. 1.50 miles @ 12:50! New PR and met my first goal of being able to do this on any medium (pavement, grass, treadmill whatever). Now I need to prove that I can get this time on pavement pacing myself instead of having a treadmill do it.

Run 13... Pavement run. 1.5 mile test today. 1.5 miles @ 12:30! This is a 3:30 PR since my first run at 16:00 flat 33 days ago. Heck yeah!!!!! This is very exciting. By far the fastest I have ever ran over a mile in my life. My 1 mile time was close to exactly 8:00 as well. At that time I would officially pass my 1.5 mile Law Enforcement test with 21 seconds to spare. Gonna keep at it!

I think Dan is busy running his gym as of late and Keith I have no idea. Assuming he's just living his life and maybe taking his MMA more seriously instead of lifting. I doubt they switched forums, although it could be possible. Dan to a place he could advertise and Keith to a more MMA centered area.
