Cindy is a beast if you go flat out. My first time was assisted Pullups and I still only got 7 rounds..lol. SEVEN ROUNDS..haha!

I haven't done it in about a year. I think I got 14 rounds. I probably can't do much better now because my pushups suck nut.

You should get back on that rower and do a full-on 500m sprint, as hard as you can without letting up. The first 250 feels awesome and the second 250 is the worst 50 seconds you can imagine. It's one of the most taxing tests of basic stamina I've ever done in such a short time. Do it and get back to me..lol

Good luck with this endeavor. I'll keep up with the journal and all the cussing and homo references.

Oh, I got flagged as a spammer too. If I post from my work computer I get filtered but from homr, or phone or iPad it works fine. So far they haven't figured out what's causing it..lol

I agree, Cindy was a bitch. I could only manage I think 9 chins before I had to start cheating myself as well... I swear I could get it decent shape just by doing her a few times a week. I will try that 500 meter next time I row, what's your PR? Weird about the spam... It's different for me as it doesn't matter what the source of me posting is, that original account always gets "checked". Thanks for stopping in dude.

Run and TKD after Pussy circuit...

    Treadmill...
1 Mile @ 7:35 ... 20 second PR Started the first half at 7.5 and progressively scaled up to 9.0 MPH during the last .2 or so. Pretty beastly.

    TKD:
Intense ~ 40 minutes out of the 70

Pretty happy to see a PR with my mile time after over a week of no running. Forgot to take my creatine and B-Alanine beforehand again and it obviously didn't seem to make much of a difference. I was really fucking tired during the last 1/3 though when I started to ramp up the speed. Good stuff though and glad to be far beyond my previously best ever mile time (before this year).

Also, weighed myself before TKD. With compression shorts and socks on I weighed 192. This was a huge surprise as last time I weighed (a long time ago, probably over 6 months) I was around 180-185 range. Glad to see I have gained some weight but no noticeable fat. To be honest, I'm pretty damn happy with my physique right now considering my past several months of inactivity. I would wager my BF to be around 12-14%, @ 192, that isn't half bad.

Only thing I understood in your training session was '1 mile' and 'treadmill'....
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw

    Lol, I remember that.

I think we all need avatar updates. If I get some time this weekend I am gonna update mine.

Awesome work on the circuit and run dude. Breaking into the 7 minute mile and on your way to the 6 minute mile is huge. The last time I was running miles I managed to get to 6:47 I think. Shit gets brutal. Sounds like good news about the weight and I'm sure your BF is closer to 12% than 14%, bro. What all supplements are you taking right now? How much Whey you eating in a day?

Flynn - Lolz. 1 mile on the treaddy and it took 7 minutes 35 seconds is what I was saying. Got a 20 second PR out of the deal (previous best was 7 minutes 55).

K - Yeah bruh... If I can manage a good pic I'll update mine. I'm excited to break 7 minutes, that will be a huge milestone for me. Definitely agree it'll get damn hard though. Supplements I'm taking are creatine mono, beta-alanine, glucoseamine/chondroitin and fish oil. No whey so far but maybe should get back into taking a scoop a day or something.

Fuckin baller run today. Hit a big PR.

    Treadmill
    1.5 miles @ 11:59 - 7.5 pace ... d00dz. 21 second PR.

Technically 7.5 pace would be 12:00 but I went to 1.51 due to the short 'wind up' tread cycle... giving myself the benefit of the doubt and putting it under 12:00 This was just as hard as my mile yesterday. These two PR's back to back are pretty big, glad I hit em!!!

Sweet deal. You should go out to the track this week to see how your numbers compare to the treadmill. I'm way faster on the road.

Agreed, dude. I bet you get another 20-30 seconds PR on the track. Awesome job on the cardio, bro!

You know kipping pullups are standard in Cindy, along with just about any Crossfit workout unless defined otherwise, right? There's different kipping techniques but essentially it means "get your chin over the bar by any means necessary as long as your arms lock out between rep and you're hanging from the bar."

My 500m PR is 1:31.4. 2000m is 7:52.5. I rarely get on the rower so those numbers would probably improve significantly with some practice. But, with 150 members and only 3 rowers I have no need to practice because we don't use it in WODs.

Make sure your technique is good too. Almost no one does it properly without instruction and efficiency is paramount on the rower.

Thanks for the words dude-man. I did not know that about kipping pullups being standard. I won't feel as shitty anymore about not doing full ones. How much is the negative emphasized? I usually try to make each negative about 3 seconds but that turns into 1 second pretty fast. I think my rowing technique is good enough. I hadn't rowed for ages and I did a 3k in 12:47 the other day which I think is okay.

    Gym Update...

Checked out the CrossFit gym earlier and it looks pretty legit. Kind of a rough looking place which I like. The floor is either artificial turf or hardwood platform w/ rubber landing pads. Tons of the following: chalk, belts, racks, OLY bars, KG plates, high chin bars, rings, bands, jump ropes, plyo boxes, medicine balls, Concept 2's, kettlebells and dumbells. Three glute-ham raises, a few punching bags, a few climbing ropes, a set of parallel bars, sand volleyball outside, a few big tractor tires, and a 350m trail. Not to mention sleds for the turf, some electronic equipment that you run on (no idea), vertical jump testing station, and a few free benches...

For $30 a month I can lift as many times a month as I want, as long as I stay out of the way of their classes. Thursdays are free all day (no classes) as well as every morning from 6AM to usually 4PM which gives me at least 3 opportunities/week if not more to workout in there. I think I'm definitely going to try it out, seems like a good place! I like that attitude of the trainer that showed me around as well, he said "No air conditioning is the only negative." I said "That's alright". He agrees and says, "Weeds out the pussies!" Right on.

    Sounds like an awesome gym.

No negative in kipping, the negative would be more of a push, as you are pushing yourself away and down rather than just dropping.

Edit: that's not right, you push out on the way up and pull forward on the way down. Complicated, but the point is there's not really a negative since you're constantly moving in a rotational fashion.

I mistyped. My 7:52 was 2km..lol. 1k would be REALLY slow..lol. Gotta edit that.

Yeah 12:47 for 3k is good. You'll be fine.

Sounds like a good deal on the gym, provided it is close to home. I'd go for it, bro.

Everything is so pricey, whatever we get into seems costly but well worth it if that's what you're really into.

    Good luck whatever you decide.

You can see in the pics I post that my gym is like what you described, and we also have no AC. It can get REALLY stuffy in the summer but I always go in at 7am so it's fine for me. Crossfit gyms are expensive. Mine is $150 for old farts like me and 75-100 for students and first responders. I grandfathered in (fitting term there ) for $125 in a recent fee raise though. I sometimes question if it's worth it, but I love going there. CF gyms will always compare their value against personal training sessions but really you dont get that kind of personal attention in CF. You do get some instruction and coaching though. But, it's more than a gym--it's a sport and a hobby and a club, and things like that definitely have a value.

If you join I'll be very surprised if you haven't found a way to be a full member within a few months. That stuff can be too tempting to pass up when it's right in front of you..lol

Gym is close to where I live, the other side of town, probably 5 miles from me. Interesting shit with the kipping chins Bako. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about but I will screw around and see if I can feel what you mean. Thanks for your thoughts MREL. If I join I would definitely want to take the CF classes but for $100 a month that's just too much for a broke college kid.

Have been doing a lot of drinking and fucking the past few days, being an ass hat. Neglecting my workouts for sure, plan on getting back on track Monday. I will justify it as a deserved few days off for hitting 2 big PR's last week but really there's no excuse. Just being a stupid asshole.

Little bit of TKD today is all. Visted chiro as well. She cracks me real good and thinks she can do something about my elbow. Pretty dead set that it's tendonitis although I call BS on anyone but God himself telling me it can be fixed. "WILL TRY" though.....

Think I will sit down tonight and think of some goals for the future and see what I can come up with.

    TKD
    50 minutes ... Moderate
