The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Dude, you've been killin it lately in here. Nice job, man. 285 on bench and 325 on Squat! A new level for you, bro. I'm pretty sure my 40 yd sprint time is Fat-n-slow, lol! Sorry your leg that you broke bothers you still. Never broken a bone, so I have no clue if they hurt forever. They are supposed to heal stronger than the actual bone, so I've heard. You plannin on playin any sports in college, or have you started lookin yet? Keep kickin some ass, Jed

K - thanks bro. im content with those two maxes, for now. idk why its hurting, i think they are supposed to heal stronger than before, but in some cases they heal too much (bone spur). i dont plan on playing anything in college unless i get a scholarship somewhere other than a division 3 or lower. if i get a good scholarship to a school with my degree i might accept. but chances are i wont be gettin any football scholarships.

bako - haha, yeah. 4.69 until i run a real one and get a 4.9 again haha.

    First off, happy birthday.

I hope you keep up the weightlifting, jed. Being so strong so young means you have an opportunity to reach an elite level of strength that most will never even think to try to reach. You've been lifting (and lifting well) since you were what, 15? That's a huge head start. Imagine what you could be doing when you're my age (24). You'll have 9 years of lifting experience under your belt if you keep at it.

thanks kill for the bday wishes.

i do not plan on ever quitting lifting. its gonna be hard when college comes, but ill definately do my best to lift if my campus doesnt have a weightroom. but i cant wait to lift on my own/without football restrictions, cuz then i can actually unleash my true strength. ive been lifting since 14 probably, 14-15 was learning year, then 15-now was pretty hardcore. yeah im hoping by your age i'll be pretty damn strong, and with that comes being pretty damn jacked too

Lol you just made me feel old for a sec. I think you're already pretty damn strong, you'll be built like a brick ****house by the time you're an old fart like me

And actually depending on where you go to college it will probably be the easiest time of lifting in your life. You'll have access to lots of food, lots of free time (maybe not as much as high school, but more than once you start working full time), and most likely a weight room on-campus.

haha just read first page of journal... looks like my maxes were like this back then :
    bench : 230
    clean : 215
squat : 315 (with pad and not as low as i go now)
    deadlift : (estimate) 305
    pullups : 13
    bodyweight : 175

haha... so, now they look like :
    bench : 285 (+55)
    clean : 240 (+25)
    squat : 325 (+10, but it's different now)
    deadlift : 385 (+80)
    pullups : 20 (+7)
    highest BW : 189 (+14)

also i know i've increased my agility stuff...
    40 : 5.12 to 4.66 (supposedly 4.66....)
    vertical : bout 20 to 32
    broad : bout 85 to 111 i'd say.

pretty cool gains, i'd say... nice to see i havent done absolutely nothing, atleast. this has all happend in 1 year and 3 months, which isnt too bad of gains. i hope i can continue with this.

Always good comparing the now and then. If I get down with my gains over a short period of time I look at the long run and it normally gets me in the mood again. Keep it up.

got elected as a football captain today. we voted last week and 5 people got a ton of votes with all the rest not getting as much. im proud i guess, its nice to know my team mates look up to me and think i have the ability to lead them in the games.

thanks detard and kill hope u get it detard, nothin like a strong as hell captain.

i play defensive end and offensive guard. for my class size (1a), my combonation is nice to have for line. usually you get one or the other : big, fat, slow, strong or smaller, faster, quicker, weaker... im more in the smaller, faster, quicker, weaker category but i can still move some people with my decent strength. i played guard last year but idk what ill play this year, probably stick at guard tho. i think i can be pretty destructive at defensive end this year if i learn quick. i know D End but i never played D at all this past year. im jacked to show my stuff tho. i'm lookin to weigh a clean 190 at football camp. if i can get over 190 while maintaining this speed and quickness, then all power to me. but that'll be hard as hell. wht about you detard?

thanks much coke, youve been with me a hell of a long way.

got diagnosed w/ bronchitis today, i've had it for like 3 days already so hopefully by tuesday itll be gone. also, the fib isnt going to break. it has so much bone built up from healing that the scar tissue is rubbing with the bone and that's where the pains coming from. he said its hard to tell how long it'll take to go down, but if it still hurts in a month we should start therapy before football.

That's the worst thing about being sick. Not the training, but not being able to eat and have the appetite. With an injury, at least you can still eat and somewhat keep your strength up. Rest, drink lots and get over this ****. We're behind you.
