The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

It's astounding to even think that a town can rebuild after something like that, but they will. Soon, they will. Way to have a big heart man.

There really is nothing like the fury of mother nature. We build our houses and tend to feel like we will be safe and protected from storms, but then a big storm comes in and wipes out whole towns in several minutes. Maybe this town can do what the town in Kansas that got destroyed last year did, and rebuild as a green town and turn a negative into a positive. I personally do not believe in a god, so I do not pray, but these people will definitely be in my thoughts and I wish the best for them.

Thank you guys so much for that. Some good news for them - their softball team get's to finish out their season with away games. Better than nothing. And they also have Aaron Kampman over there, because him (along with 4 other professional NFL players) graduated from the high school there. We got a group of like 30 athletes headin up Saturday to help all day, so that'll feel nice. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts guys, I beleive it helps.

Thats horrible about the tornado dude. We had one south of here a few weeks ago that killed about the same amount. The worst part that got me was a firefighter was going door to door warning people cause there was no sirens and he ended up being killed. Sad ****... Thats why I love doing what I do, cause when **** hits the fan, we help and cleanup and help the injured people and all that.

Congrats on the bike. Ive been looking around and Im pretty positive I am going to start off with the Suzuki GS500f. They started making the model in 2004 and used runs around 2000 - 3500 (its 5100 new). It looks pretty similar to the gixxer. After a few seasons I think im going to upgrade to the Honda cbr 600. The 2008 graffiti model is the coolest thing I have ever seen. It is good to see someone who isnt going to start off with a coffin on 2 wheels, thats a good decision going with the ninja 250. Im going to be doing a lot of commuting on it so I am going with a little bigger bike, but the model im looking at is pretty tame. My dad and uncle have harleys so im going to ride with them.

EDIT: BE CAREFUL! hahaha. I am signed up for a riders safety course. You dont seem like the kind of guy to do a bunch of stupid **** tho. Enjoy

That's some crazy **** about the tornados, man. Sorry to hear all that has happened. Pretty awesome that some of you are going out there to help out. You're a good dude, Jed. Cool deal with the new bike. Thing sounds awesome as hell! Be extra careful with it. I've just know too many people with bikes that messed themselves up back in highschool and college. You best be always wearin your helmet on that thing, bro, or all of us here on WBB are going to get out there to Iowa and whoop ya! Good workouts as well, man.

good workout today. did some interesting raises ive never done before.

    power clean : 135 warmup, 175x5, 185x5, 190x6 damnnn tiring.

    incline : 135x8, 145 2x8 solid.

lying lateral raises : 12 3x8.... ok lemme explain these. idk if they have a name. i laid on the bench with chest and face down, and took a dumbell in each hand and did a lateral raise up as high as i could. it seems like pure isolation on the lateral/outside delts. felt awesome.

    pushups team workout.

Good workout, I hate the lateral raises you're referring to, I could never do any decent amount of weight on them. NIce bike. If/when I get one it'll likely be more of a cruiser, but sport bikes look like lots of fun. Be careful. I'm glad you're going with the 250 first.

I did say a prayer for the people of that town. I can't imagine how devastated those people must feel, especially those whose insurance won't cover it, or that don't have any insurance at all. Be careful working in there when you go.

Damn fine Cleans, Jed. How's the incline press working out for you? Think it will carry over into your flat bench?

Damn good power cleans. I guess my next question is, what did you think of the gs500f? And have you gotten out on any rides on the 250?

went to parkersburg today. worked from 9-4 with eating breaks in between. not much to say. words cant explain how devastating everything was. we cleaned up the golf course all day. so much wood and metal and debris. it was just unbeleiveable. the ditches were full up to the roads of random crap, ranging from necklaces to car axles. worked all day and got somewhere, but theres so much left to do. went into town and i cant even describe it at all. i wont even try to.

kill - thanks bro. i love them and that was my first time doin them. light weight but felt awesome. cool make sure n tell me when ur gettin a bike ya definaetly 250 is enough for a starter haha. thanks dude prayers help i beleive and it was a hard time out there today but we got alot done.

coke - thanks bro u know the name for that? anyone?

kiaran - thanks alot dude. felt good to clean higher reps. i fell high rep cleans do more than low rep for me. and yes incline press is feeling awesome and hoping its gonna make my chest bigger, which would naturally help my flat bench too

fooz - hey much appreciated man u gotta journal?

red - gracias my 5th rep of 190 was sloppy so i got pissed and did another rep for some reason? haha wasnt thinking but i got it.

pulse - thank u bro. glad my cleans are lookin good everyone the gs500 looked awesome, most zuki's do, but he didnt start or drive it. and no, the 250 gets delivered when the check clears so hopefully we get it by monday!!!

dad also bought a bike, a 2005 honda rebel 250. also got it for cheap. we'll be savin money up the arse

That's actually the bent over lateral raises (on incline bench).

    sweet, thanks coke.

today pissed me off with bench, but whatever.

    lying DB flys : 30 3x10

    bench : 135x4, 185x4, 205x8, 215x8, 225x5 +3 help... 225x5 is so weak i was pissed. gah.

    DB bench : 50 3x10

close grip : 135x6, 155x8, 145x8 these were weak too.

shoulder shrugs for team workout, they were hardcore

did some nice fast sprints for plyos and hard conditioning after. beat the kid that ran a 4.55 forty in a 10 yard sprint and tied him another time. definitely felt fast today.
