    thanks alot zen.

alright, i will try on the rows. will prob drop weight. do you think pendelay rows are better for lats or just normal 45(ish) rows.

also - do you think the way im squatting is fine? ATF or as deep as i can get. or is just to paralell with some heavier weight better for adding mass?

I like to build my ATG squat for my sport. You will get better all around development with a fuller ROM. I think it is a disservice to yourself to sell yourself short on ROM.

Id stick w/ the BO rows and work on pulling the bar against your body (which will utilitze your lats) and squeezing at the top. hard.

I think pullups are great too. Weighted. Squeeze at the top and slow negatives.

hmm.. what if you can only do like 3-4 reps per set w/ a respectable weight for pullups? wud just BW with squeeze for 5x5 work?

Nice moves on that bench, bro. If lats are what you're looking for, pullups will be your best friend. Work up to 5 sets of 10 reps at bodyweight. When you can do that, you can add weight. In the beginning just work up to a total of 50 reps. If it takes you something like 10/8/6/6/6/4/4/3/2/1 for reps per set, then so be it. You'll feel your lets get swole with that, I promise. When you are ready for weight, I usually do something like BWx10 for warmup, then go for a 8/6/4 followed by a burnout with BW again.

hehe cool. thanks dude. abs i aint worried about definition-wise, as long as their kind of thick. would kind of like to make oblique area more impressive, but thats something for a later time. i just need to get huge now.

oh yeah heres a pic you can compare it to. this is when i started.

as you can see, not much has changed. tiny pecs. genetically swole arms/forearms. lacking in shoudlers. imaginary lat syndrome fully intact even at 14 years old. lol!

    thanks a bunch, cokemaster.

maxed on deads today. conventional is different but im geting used to it... i think.

deadlift : 135 wu, 225x1, 275x1, 300x1, 315x1, 335x1, 355x1... used alot of back and little legs, but back was straight. so the form was 'iffy' at the least, but not terrible.

    BB mili : 115x5, 120x5, 125 3x5... solid. started with all 115's first week.

    BW pullups : x10, x10, x8, x7, x5, x5, x5... alternated w/ bb milis.

    DB rows : 50's 4x8

I STILL CANT GET ANYTHING TO BURN MY LATS. im getting pissed. back when i could only do 1 set of 1 pullup, i felt my lats blow up till i could do 2x10 BW. ever since, nothing has hit them. i can add weight, i can do 50 reps of bw... i still cant feel anything!

Do narrow grip, palms facing you.

To add width to your back, do the above. For thickness, do them wide grip, overhand

ahhhhhhh. thanks dan! ive been doing OH wide grip ever since i started. it made my lats bigger but stopped eventually. because i always though chinups were just biceps. how can they work the lats? it doenst seem like it'd barely hit them?

just wondering, i totally beleive you.

Strap some weight on and try negatives with medium-wide Overhand.

Can you contract/flew your lats on pullups?

how do you do a negative pullup? pullup like usual, then go down slower? PS - today for my last rep i held about 65% thru the pullup for a good 7 secs and i felt nothing but delts and bi's. i figured since a static type of hold like that would be close i just though id inform you.

Yea, stand on a box or something.

Work on some mind to muscle connection. Stand in front of the mirror and flex, mimic pullups slowly and flex the same way. Think about it and feel the contraction on the pull.

I dont know how it works the lats, but it does. If you focus on squeezing your lats nice and tight, you will see good results. They should be contracting down so to speak.

Lookin solid Jed. My suggestion on the lats (if it hasnt been mentioned) would be to simply do weighted chin. Widen your grip a little, add some weight...does it for me. Explode up and slowly down and you will definately feel it later.

Outside of deads, weighted chins and heavy TBar rows are my fav back workouts. YMMV as they say.
