    Question On Rest

    I was just wondering. I know that rest is one of the main keys into your muscles growing. Well I lifted legs today, saturday, then had to go to work,which involves alot of walking. Then I came home and have rested. Will it hurt me to play basketball tomorrow or should I just stay home and rest?
    Starting Weight: 135 (January 06)
    Weight Now: 218 (January 08)
    Starting Bench: 100
    Bench Now: 210 x 1

    i dont think it will hurt but just make sure u get at least 10 hrs of sleep after you play

    7 or 8 is fine. Some people can only manage this much. I haven't slept for 10 hours in months.

    I've never slept 10hrs. I'm lucky to get 7 and i manage fine

    Hmm...10...actually I haven't slept that much since I had surgery and was recovering. I slept all day then. Considering all the things I have to do during the day, that just seems like a waste of daylight. Naps are ok though.

    Actually I enjoyed every minute of it. I was also on Vicodin 4 times a day. Peeing in a mini-urinal was not fun though (I couldn't move at all for a while). Played lots of video games, watched a lot of TV, and read a few books while I was recovering.

    If you play basketball, your legs will wither away - just say no to basketball.

    Don't worry about it.
    A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook
