That routine looks good to me. I was never a fan of the bench dips, but if they work well for you, that routine looks nice. I meant a total of 5 sets for bis, and a total of 5 for tris.

No, it isn't. In fact, I finished writing it today and emailed it to Hulk. My program is quite a bit different, and it only promises 1/2", not 1". I must, however, confess to being influenced by Mr. Darden and the Nautilus philosophy. I have read nearly every one of his books, and I think he was/is quite accurate in many of his assertations.

Sorry, I missed it. Why, well I like to hit my arms as heavily as possible. As you may have noticed, I am a bit of a heavy training freak. Training arms with other bodyparts precludes you from training as heavily as possible. During my standard training, not when specializing on arms, I have always preferred to split them from the rest of the body. My current split is as follows:

    Back, Shoulders, Chest

    Arms

    Legs

Obviously day 1 is the most grueling, but I find this to be acceptable.

Chris e-mailed it to Hulk so now we can all take a look at it once Hulk posts the article!!! YEAAAAAAAAA!!!
"In the grand scheme of things, both things are quite superficial(obsessed with being muscular&ripped and incredibly strong). And yet lifting can teach you so much. My time at the gym--at least when I'm lifting--is invariably the high-point of my day. There aren't any questions; I almost don't even think. I go into an almost meditative trance-like state. Day-to-day worries become insignificant. I'm focused solely on the weight, and my reason for existence is clear. To move the bar and to improve on what I accomplished last time. Seldom are things so simple." - Blood&Iron

"Most people cannot understand what burns in our blood, the gym is our addiction and iron is our drug. People don't understand why we commit hours a day to a goal where progress is so small it seems immeasurable, why we do cardio instead of watch TV, why eat 6 meals a day, why we insist on ordering diet soda or how we can drink skim milk. Most people will simply never grasp why we refuse to settle for a mediocre body." - Severed Ties

So you didn;t find that heavy arm stimulation twice a week caused your presses/dips and rows to regress?

good article. I went to gym for about a 1-1.5years back in 1995 (in Russia) and was following routines with crazy reps like 10-15 doing more then 30 sets per day. I got stronger but not bigger. My arms were around 17 (in the matter of fact it is 17 now(43cm)).
Never thought that low volume is the way to go ;(.
Just started working out again. Hope to see some results.
I already lost about 20lb of fat , went from fat pig of 225 to 'something' of 205lb.
Great board. This is my first post here.

Use the armblaster, it will gain you a half inch on your arms. See armblaster.com and an article about it there.

When are you discussing, 10 years ago, or now? Now, I follow that split, but only train a bodypart once every 17-20 days (train heavy I mean).

I never said that it would get 1/2 in a month, but for someone who trains hard it will force your arms to adapt more significantly than normal curls and force growth. 1/2+ is definetly achievable in a month if you work real hard with the blaster, but not everyone will get it.

Yeah, its definetly worth it. Don't go the cheapo route and get a sucky one though, you'll regret it after the first workout when you spend 10 min fooling with the straps. Needless to say, I have 2 of them
