The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    New PR's

Today I hit a few new personal Records.

    Dips - BW + 45
    Pullups - BW + 45
    Chinups - BW + 45

I felt like I could have done more but had to leave. Made me feel pretty good to know I can add that much weight to those exercises

nice work, are those one rep maxes?

same avatar, which is funny, since it's just a random picture of bill hicks, not an avatar people use

I've been lifting for two weeks. Give me a break.

Two rep. Next week I plan to try and add 15-20 to make my one rep max.

That's darn good for two weeks experience. Keep it up.

And manofsteel...ouch! How the heck did you hurt your sternum doing back squats? Are you rounding your upper body? Take a big breath and don't lose your back arch.

I used to do those exercises back in the day daily, but quit until now.

I wish I had know about the belts that allow you to add weight back then though.

That had to hurt pretty badly manofsteel99. My sternum has never popped, I hope it never does now.

Thanks. I need a reasonable record for these exercises. When I find out what my true one rep max is I will have to set one.

What would you consider a hard but achievable goal based on your average lifter doing these exercises weekly?
