    The Appetizer of the Gods

These beauties are called moink balls. They are bacon wrapped Meatballs that have been put on the smoker, then glazed with BBQ sauce. Quite simple to make, and oh, so delicious.

These coupled with Ben's meatloaf will get you to SHW in no time at all...

you could make kosher ones fairly easily. Like you said just sub-in turkey bacon. and you may want to make sure the meatballs you are using are compliant as well...

You can substitute the meatballs for anything really... I do this with chicken, pork, and shrimp. They are always the first thing gone at any type of party.

Don't sub in turkey bacon. Regular bacon is actually healthier. Turkey bacon has more sodium.

Since I don't know any meatball recipes I'm thinking of trying this out tonight with actual balls of meat. I'm thinking I'll mix lean hamburger with some egg and a little garlic. Then its basically a hamburger ball wrapped in bacon.

Turkey bacon is kosher, but it appears to be pork bacon... in traditional Kashrut, you're supposed to keep in mind the appearance of what you're eating. Not sure how strict you are, Dkalban, but that's also why a lot of Orthodox Jews also look down on miracle whip mixed with meat, soy cheeseburgers, and stuff like that. That's also why it's bad to eat chicken with cheese, because it might tempt you to think that eating beef and cheese is ok, which is the actual thing forbidden!

Well not 100% kosher, we mix meat and dairy, and we dont keep extra dishes for meat and dairy. We just dont eat the forbidden foods, except for rare occassion where my mom and sister will order shellfish, otherwise we eat what we want.

I occasionly have pork, but on very rare occassion.

How come, (please excuse my ingnorance) if it is forbidden, you have had it on a rare occasion? Could you not just eat it now that you have anyway?

Those meatballs do look incredible. Perfect size too for throwing into a marinara sauce or something.
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw
