I was looking around my gym today and realized that there were people there
who looked bigger than me (mass wise) but weren't lifting as much as me. Can my height be blamed for the misinterpretation? I'm 6'3, 185 Pounds. I don't look as strong as them but am stronger? This is due to the fact my muscles are longer so it takes more to look bigger, correct??
that can be part of it...also muscle density
What causes muscles to either be dense or not?
Well, there are some unknowns:
Are all the other people you looking at lifting to their extreme? It could be the end part of a drop-set of light lifting?
And, naturally, you can become strong without gaining much weight. You can find people lifting three times their weight. So, size does not correlate with weight all the time.
Well the person i was particularly paying attention to could only do about 5 reps one set one of 180, than 2 or 3 the next set...and I can push 180 about 8 times
