The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Share your Breakfast!

New to the forum, and have never been a breakfast eater. I am trying to gain weight and I have always been skipping breakfast or just having a bagel and cream cheese. I hear everyone kind does their own thing ranging from full meals to shakes and maybe a protein bar or supplement.

What do you eat for breakfast and what do you recommened for someone who would like to gain some weight and has never really eaten the meal on a regular basis?

    My options, daily

I choose the following options for breakfast:

    1) 1.5 cups of Fiber One Cereal with a 0.75 cup of Lactose Free, Fat Free Milk.

240 calories, 3 grams of fat, 12 grams of protein, 86 grams of carbohydrates, 48 grams of fiber.

    or

    2) 1 cup of Old Fashioned Quaker Qats with a tiny box raisins. (This makes two bowls and I sprinkle the raisins on.)

345 calories, 6 grams of fat, 10 grams of protein, 65 grams of carbohydrates, 9 grams of fiber.

    or

    3) 4 well scrambled eggs (1/8 of a cup of LFFF milk is used)

290 calories, 18 grams of fat, 25 grams of protein, 4 grams of carbohydrates, 0 grams of fiber.

It should be noted that when I choose the first two options, I follow that up with a protein packed snack of whey, chicken, tuna, etc. This usually is about 1.5 hours after I have consumed my breakfast.

(Oh, and if you are wondering - the peanut consumption starts later in the afternoon.)

    Best,
    Andrew

So far so good with the responses. Hopefully I get to see some more.

    Quick question.

Noticed some of you guys have a protein shake for breakfast. I have one everyday but usually either after my workouts or on the days I have off at night. When you drink them in the morning do you have one again at night or after you work out?

Protein shake is just like a meal. You can have them as many times a day as you would like as long as your hitting your target cals. For me a shake in the morning is just convenience.

I just really started getting into working out and I never eat breakfast. I really want to change that and looking at what everyone here is eating seems like a lot. Like I dont think I could even stomach 1/4 of what some people are saying.

Wash U has decent food? Haha, where are YOU eating at? My bro/sis went/go there, and I found the cafeterias to be pretty abysmal.

To the OP: oats, frozen bananas, peanut butter, whey protein, milk in a blender. It's like 600 calories and isn't time-consuming, which is the only thing stopping me from making a tasty omelette every morning.

Way down this road, in a gym far away, a young man was once heard to say, "I've repped high and I've repped low, No matter what I do my legs won't grow."

He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses, too. Trying to cheat these sissy workouts he'd do. From the corner of the gym where the big men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain.

Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty fives. A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees.

Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack, Chalking his hands and monstrous back, Said "Boy stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, Trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN"
