    My Garage Gym

    Hey, just wanted to share what you can build for about $4K. I've overcome a few obsticals along the way and I must admit, I love the final product. Enjoy!

    i have been trying to find a way to get something like that...but the only thing i can think of is grab a few 100 lb dumbbells and do a farmers walk for 1oo yards, but i really want a big tire to drag or at least a sled for this summer so i can work on power running and getting quicker.

    If more gyms looked like this, you'd see A LOT more fit people walking around.

    Looks pretty awesome. Mine looks a little ghetto compared to that, but comparable in terms of equipment

    Thanks for all the compliments, guys and gals. The reason it was so cheap is because I built most of the crap from Home Depot supplies. Most expensive pieces were the rower, rack, bench, bars and plates.

    Someone didn't read their owners manual It says on page 6, that "It is best to let the handle rest against the fan cage rather than in the handle hooks when the machine is not in constant use....This will prolong the life of the shock cord."

    That ain't a TV, lol! It's a pos 17" monitor that I aquired for free. I have a computer jammed down in the corner there with a wireless card on it so I can listen to music and record my workouts. A flat pannel would be nice.

    Do share how to build a reverse hyper?

    Wow, I am truly jealous dude...although, my gym is about .3 miles from my house, which is convenient. Thats beside the point tho, props to you dude! Still cant believe you bought all that **** for 4k tho, thats just as amazing as your setup.

    Very nice. Like I said in your journal, I am int he proccess of building up mine similar to yours. The only difference is I want a tredmill instead of the row machine. My wifey would love that. We go to the gym on base now. VERY NICE GYM BRO!!!!

    Reverse hyper is easy, just needs to be a;

    bench higher than waist high by about a foot (I'm thinking boards and saw tressles on the cheap, maybe stick it on bricks for height?)
    something to hold onto, just some handles or a bar of some description out in front of you
    Chain/strap to attach to the bottom of the contraption
    strap to attach to your ankles.

    Done! Aint no need to spend 2k at EFS on one of them bad boys

    It's sort of a work in progress. Took me about 2 full months to really get it to where it's at though. Did it while I was laid off for 6 weeks in December and January. Worst part was tearing down all the old **** in the garage, doing some electrical for the lighting (which was actually really cheap), and ripping the 8' boards.
