The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Thanks guys.

    Squatin w/ the suit. * = NOT //

    Workout:

    Squats RAW
    135 x 3
    185 x 3
    225 x 3
    245 x 1

    Squats Suit Straps Down
    275 x 1 *
    275 x 1
    295 x 1

    Add Box to Paralell
    315 x 1
    315 x 1
    325 x 1

    No Box, Straps still Down
    345 x 1 PR

    Squats Straps Up
    315 x 1*
    335 x 1*

    Add Box to Paralell
    345 x 1
    365 x 0

Take Away Box, Straps Still Up
    365 x 1*
    365 x 1
    365 x 1 PR

Abs & Obliques, lots of stuff, HEAVY
    9 x 8-12

    Thoughts:
Bombest workout I've ever had in my life. This was supposed to be a day off, but something inside me just said, get your ass to the gym and go crazy, haha. * That means I didn't break parallel. My buddy (well more like aquaintance) showed up for my 365 attempts. He's a powerlifter, totals like 1500 but I don't know what kind of gear. Well he helped me out a little and acted as a "judge" and gave me the UP command as soon as I hit //. I didn't get it the first try, the second was a hair above, and the third one I went down until he said "up". Awesome workout, my abs are killing me. I went super heavy on them. I feel good.

So my PR's look like this.

    RAW - 310
    Straps down - 345
    Straps up - 365

I don't know what to put in my signature....... any suggestions?

My bench and dead are both RAW, my squat isn't. But, I can add 15lbs to my bench if I count it as equipped..... eh :/

    To EVERYONE-

Sorry if I haven't been replying to your guys' journals. If you don't already know, school started last week. So between school, homework, lifting, and freinds, I haven't been as active as I usually am. But I'll try to check up on everyone as much as I can!

    Peace brothas!!!

Put your suited or your raw number down - just choose one.

    Nice job btw!
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

    I went with

    equipped bench - 295 (only 10 lbs more than RAW :/ )
    equipped squat - 365
RAW deadlift - 385 (only because I haven't even made a serious attempt in my suit yet)

    Thanks Sensei!!!
