The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Aaah! how can you be so strong!

    I hate you little folk!
Being a strong teenager means nothing.

My wrists hurt, but some people don't have wrists to be sore. My knees have tendinitis, but some people don't have legs to get tendinitis in. I seem to be going backwards with training, yet some people can't even walk let alone lift 400 pounds on a daily basis.

Dust out the vagina, and keep on lifting.

It's definately nothing like you'd ever imagine. I wouldn't get any unless you're POSITIVE you're going to compete. Thanks Chris.

    Dynamic stuff

    Workout:

    Box Squats (doubled minis)
    135 x 2 x 9

    Speed Deads
    205 x 1 x 5
    255 x 1
    255 x 1
    305 x 1

    Thoughts:
Wow, those doubled minis were TOUGH. They even sat me back down at the half way point on the 5th set. Had to regroup and go again. Disapointed with speed, it basically wasn't there. Really focused on form on the deads. Foot placement, pushing the knees out, and starting position. First 4 reps sucked, I was trying one hand at a time (grip) and then pulling. Way too slow off the ground. Then I started just grabbing it with both hands at the same time and immediately pulling. A lot better. Once I broke it off the ground I was pretty much just standing up as if I wasn't holding onto anything. 255s were about the same speed, 305 was a little tougher off the ground but the same deal as the others, I just flew up once it broke. Oh ya, and SuperBad is freakin awesome. Rush Hour and the gay guys movie on Monday .

    Peace brothas!!!
You can cut this one out.

Not sure if pushing the knees out will help your dead. It's more for squatting. If you're pulling sumo, concentrate more on spreading the floor.

Bingo, that's how you do it---grip and rip.

Haha, will do brother. Actually that one shouldn't have been there in the first place, I never do or have homework.

Oh rly? Someone said that a couple of days ago. I've been trying to spread the floor but I can't really do it... it's hard. The knee thing DID help me get down more comfortably though .

The bands are tough to squat with, you'll get used to them.

    Real nice speed pulls.

Thanks LK. First set or two they were flinging me backwards pretty hard. I started doing them monolift style though.

    Bench Assistance

    Workout:

    Incline BB Bench
    135 x 5
    165 x 3
    185 x 3
    215 x 1
    225 x 1 PR

    Flat DB Bench
    40 x 6
    60 x 6
    80 x 6
    95 x 5 PR

    Barbell Rows
    135 x 6
    155 x 6
    165 x 6

    Power Shrugs (mix grip)
    225 x 6
    275 x 6

    Pull Ups
    x 8
    x 6

    Straight Bar Tri Ext
    100 x 32 PR
    100 x 16

    Thoughts:
Usually incline bench kills my shoulders, it was fine this time. Not great numbers since I'm not used to doing em, so I got a PR by technicality. That's pretty much my second time doing flat dumbell bench, last time I think I got 95s x 4, so one more rep today. Weird, because that's what I can do on incline bench (95x5). I seriously hate barbell rows now, I don't know why, I used to love them. I need to find a new back excersise. Those extensions burrrrrrned. I think 28 was my old PR, who care though. Squattin tomorrow .

Thanks. You will! I remember 4 years ago, dreaming of benching 200 and idolizing all of the big football players in high school. Now 200 is easy and I AM one of those big seniors . Haha, thanks for dropping in.

I know! There aren't any appealing ones coming up though, they're all in L.A.
