    raw, belt. etc

    whats this all mean?

    say if someone has 275x1 raw etc. whats all that mean? if its raw your not using a belt? and if you have a belt on you can lift more?

    Yes, Raw is not using any equipment. Some use bench shirts, belts, knee wraps, wrist wraps, etc.

    A belt I don't think makes that much of a difference, but other things can add huge numbers to your lifts, such as a bench shirt.

    For most people, raw means no equipment whatsoever, not even a belt. For most powerlifters, and in most powerlifting feds, raw means only a belt and wrist wraps are allowed.
