The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Geraldo Vs O'reilly

Did anyone catch this? Thoughts? I can kind of see both points of view. On the one hand O'reilly is nuts, but if your family member was killed by an illegal alien it might be hard not to see where he's coming from.

After this little outburst Geraldo brought out the Drill Sergeants to send O'Reilly away to behavior bootcamp.

Whatever, how can Geraldo not say this is about immigration? We'd be asking for the same thing if the ILLEGAL immigrant were of any nationality. If a family member of mine were killed by an illegal alien who had already been in trouble for drinking and driving before but was NOT deported... I'm sorry but that's bull****.

It's even more BS considering this illegal alien got into the country without the proper registration and getting on the wait list meanwhile other people are going through the correct way. This guy cut in line and now Geraldo is defending him because he has Latin blood.

Geraldo has to be kidding when he says it's not about immigration and that it's only about drinking and driving. I mean god forbid it's about BOTH.

But you gotta admit it was an awesome segment...

The O'Reilly and Stephen Colbert interviews were pretty entertaining too (don't know if it's still up there or not).

Ya, this was a great clip. Pretty simple in my eyes. A kiddie pool, 5 gallons of baby oil, two depends diapers and a referee. Let them settle it like men in a no holds barred oil wrestling match.

I don't like O' reily anymore but the immigration in this country is out of control.

I think that anyone who doesn't belong here should either become a citizen or be deported. Its ridiculous what we allow to happen within our own borders.

You should see how our industry in the Fox Cities and Green Bay has been hit. We've had hundreds of immigrants who hardly speak English takes many of our factory jobs and now us Americans are being forced to find other ones.

    The interview was hilarious.

As far as the immigration issue is concerned .... this is the one time I actually mostly agree with Bill O'Reilly.

I don't think it's the least bit feasible to deport everyone, but we need to stop letting people into the country. Build a fence across the whole border -- a huge, basically impenetrable fence is far less than the amount that we spend in the "war on drugs." Shoot people with rubber bullets when they try to cross.

That said, as economists will tell you, we DO have a shortage of labor in this country. We need more jobs. A guest worker program is fine -- so long as the guest workers (1) pay taxes, (2) have documentation, (3) LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH. I think the majority of the illegals in this country are hard working, good people. But if they can't even speak the de facto national language of this country, they aren't assimilating into society and aren't helping the American 'melting pot' ideal -- or even the 'tossed salad' ideal!

For the people that already are here, go ahead and let them stay UNLESS they commit a crime. 1 non-trivial crime (ie anything worse than speeding or marijuana) and they need to be deported. The people that are here that want to change to guest workers should have a shot, though. But, they need to LEARN ENGLISH first. Learn English, get documented, and you're a guest worker. You commit a crime, and you're deported.

But at the very least, do what 90% of Americans want you to do and PROTECT THE BORDERS. Argue about that other **** later.

Your foreign aid policy is in a sad state at the moment and until your government fixes that then you can expect the immigrants to just keep on coming.

As for the video OíReilly is a TV personality Ö he does what he needs to do to get ratings, I swear more people watch his show to hate him than for any other reason. The sad part is that the key issue is being over looked I terms of the Virginia Beach drunk driver killing two teens.

Do you think that simply giving the same aid as Denmark (% GDP wise), we would stop illegal immigrants from entering our country in mass numbers?

    Do you really think that?

It has nothing to do with amount, the US gives the most out of any country which is great but it is not being allocated to support your own initiative to lower immigration or to even control it.
I can tell you this though... a wall is probably the worst idea. There is no instant gratification solution and once you stop looking for that then you can move forward with logical long term solutions.

    A few things ..

1 - "the US gives the most out of any country which is great"
Yeah but % GDP-wise we suck, and we're not great per capita either. My point at any rate was that if we gave a lot more it still wouldn't help.

2 - "but it is not being allocated to support your own initiative to lower immigration or to even control it. "

So you think if we gave all this money to build cities in Mexico that we could have a significant enough impact to keep people from coming over? Or do you have other ideas? It's simply not going to keep as many people from coming over as a wall will.

3 - "I can tell you this though... a wall is probably the worst idea. There is no instant gratification solution and once you stop looking for that then you can move forward with logical long term solutions."

A wall keeps more people from coming in. It's not that expensive (~$9 billion, one time fee to build something that looks like it is protecting Fort Knox). With no more illegal aliens coming in, we can start working on assimilating the ones that are willing to become Americans, and kicking out the ones that are breaking our laws. In 7 years, the ones that haven't learned English or registered can start getting deported in mass.

Why is a wall a bad idea?!

#1 I said nothing about giving more; honestly the US has enough internal problems to spend that money on. (not that it will ever be spent on these problems)

#2 By allocation I mean facing the problems at the root of your immigration problem, spending money to improve relations between the two countries would be a good start cooperate with each other to solve a common problem, because lets face it the US isn't the only one being harmed by this.

#3 If you build a wall you are basically stomping on all beliefs that your country is based upon, you can also look at the fact that there is already a common view from most Mexicanís that the US discriminates again certain races in terms of immigration. In terms of a world view how does this portray the US?

Yeah I keep trying to figure out why people think a huge wall is a bad idea. A wall + increased border patrols would do the job IMO. Maybe add some motion sensors to it while you're at it.

I mean it's either that or we abolish the minimum wage and almost all welfare programs. I'd prefer the latter but who are we kidding it's not about to happen.

If we had spent money on defense instead of offense then I think we'd be looking pretty peachy right now.

Yeah, but regardless of how ****ty life will be in America for illegals, they think it's going to be great, so they're going to keep coming over regardless. Plus, regardless of how little Americans are willing to work for, they'd be willing to work for less.

If we had spent money on defense instead of offense then I think we'd be looking pretty peachy right now.
Strongly agree. If, instead of the $300 billion (? or is it more now?) we spent on Iraq, we put $10 billion on the Mexican border, and then $290 billion towards real defense and patrol, then we'd actually have made the country tremendously more safe without pissing off more people. Instead, we've managed to fire up the Muslim population even more, without actually making any steps towards protecting ourselves from the radicals. Great job Bush.

lol that's just wrong. I hope this was just worded improperly.

Also yes I believe the Mexican government could and would assist. One of the more interesting suggestions I have heard was for an International Industrial Zone located in the northern Mexican states.
