The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Why is my Left Bicep bigger than my Right.

I'm right-handed and my right arm is way stronger. Why on earth is my left bicep bigger than my right ? I curl the same weight for both arms, not to mention there is one exercise in which i'm stressing my right arm more than my left. My left bicep has been bigger and more defined than my right for several months now. What's the deal ?

You could try doing DB curls, but keep in mind people's bodies are not perfectly symmetrical. There may be nothing you can do to truly even it out.

I already do DB curls. I don't do BB curls.

I already feared it could be down to my genetics.

lol Dude, don't worry about it. There are a lot worse things you can fear, having 1 arm bigger than th eother is not one of them.

You are probably not curling enough times a week. Try at least three times a week and try doing anywhere between 5-9 sets of 25 reps each time.

I curl once every third day, that's 2-3 times a week. I used to curl 3-4 times a week and even then my left was bigger and more defined.

    Firstly, he was being sarcastic.

Secondly, your routine may be lacking if you're doing this.

Thirdly, there's nothing you can do. Nobody will notice.

mabye because your left was weaker to start off with so it had to work harder to catch up with the other arm.... thus stimulating more growth in that arm?

You have never once said what the differance was...are we talking like 3" differance or 1/4"? I am going to guess no one has ever noticed the differance except your mirror!

A guy i lift with throws shotput for MSU, the differance in his arm is 3+" and you really can't notice unless he is flexing both

I've never measured my arms yet, but the difference is clear to the naked eye. My left is bigger and more peaked.

I'ma be a smart ass on my answer since I really don't think it matters if your left or right is .5 inch bigger.

Because in your gym you have two power racks, the one most often used for curling is to the left of the one that is used for proper squatting.

And as your curling your watching the guy to your left squat, and wondering why he is using a powerrack for power related stuff, and in doing so your not paying attention to your right arm, and your right arm has to use more power since your not paying attention to it.

Or you just wack off a lot.

The reason why I made a smart ass reply to this thread is the following.

Your paying way to much attention to your curls. I mean good god I haven't curled in over a year, and well IDC to. Its not a neccessary lift, I know mayn of my lifting buddies consider it in fact useless.

Do you squat? or deadlift? I'm sure you bench cause all curl jockies bench.

maybe it's just because the other muscles in your left arm, like triceps are smaller so the bicep appears bigger.

its genetic. my right bicep is and always has been bigger than my left and i curl the same with both arms, same with my tricep except my left tri is bigger than right and always has been, and my right is probably stronger even though its smaller. just deal with it, nobodys perfectly semetrical?

dude. chill. i have the exact same problem. my left is .5 smaller than my right. i believe it is due to minor scoliosis (in the spinal column) which most people have, it skews the growth of the body towards one side. I wouldnt be surprised if your left lat is bigger too.
Fact of the matter is, i ask all my buddies if they notice and they say "no or barely if you stare at it", even though i know you spend a long time looking at it and thinking about it in the mirror.
    No biggie.
