Thread: squat max on friday.

    squat max on friday.

    so i got squat max on friday and i squat 375 but i wanna get it up to 405. and its been about three weeks since i squat maxed at school and its comming round again. our work out on squat rack is like so.

    monday:back squat 5x3 85% of squat max, military press 3x8
    wendesday: front squat 5x3 85% of clean max, upright rows 3x8
    friday: squat max.

    so given the workout that i have to follow what would be the best strategy for me to follow so far as how much weight to workout with, so that i can suck out the last 30lbs. and when i'm warming up for my max how much weight and rep should i go throught. i normally do 135 for five reps then 225 for 2 reps and then 275 once.

    i'd go use a warmup like
    45x10
    135x5
    185x3
    245x1
    315x1
    370x1
    400x1
    Weight:207
    375/300/365 Goal by summer:415/315/415

    I think going for 405 is being optomistic. I'd go with the sets above, but go for 385-390 for the last single...I know 4 pps is tempting, but I'd rather hit a lower 1 RM than miss one any day of the week.

    heh id go straight frmo 370 to 405. that in between set is gaining you nothing!

    I agree with RST. There's a lot of confidence that is built when you don't miss weights because you make smart jumps. 4 Plates is still there. Strength is a marathon., not a sprint. If 375 is your best right now, I would look for 390. The next time around, 405 should be right there. Be patient, you'll get it.

    maybe i should've clarified that im not going to jump from 375 to 405. im gonna go 375 390 then 405.
