The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Please critique my routine

I've been making some solid gains all year, but these past few weeks have been hell. I finally stopped and took a look at what I was doing, and realized that my routine had slowly dengerated over the months into something pretty and inneficient. I wanted to get started on the Big Boy Basics routine but made a few changings to my liking. Because of this, I was wondering if I could get some insight to this routine before I used it.

Day 1 All movements 8 sets of 3 at a 5 rep max with 60 seconds rest
    BB Bench Press
    Bent over DB Rows
    Pull-Ups
    BB Shoulder Press
    Dips

Day 2 All movements 3 sets of 8 at a 10 rep max with 90 seconds rest
    Squats
    Leg Raises
    Deadlifts
    Ab Machine/sit ups
    BB Curls

    Day 3 moderate cardio/ rest

Day 4 All movements 3 sets of 8 at a 10 rep max with 90 seconds rest
    DB Bench Press
    Bent over DB Rows
    Dips
    BB Shoulder Press

Day 5 All movements 8 sets of 3 at a 5 rep max with 60 seconds rest
    Squats
    Leg Raises
    Deadlifts
    Ab Machine/sit ups
    Chin ups

    Day 6 - Moderate Cardio/rest

    Day 7 - rest

I see no over training. It's an upper/lower split, much the same as I do.

    I'd take out the curls.
I'd take out the leg raises and do lunges.
I'd take out the chinups on the second lower day.

    Can't disagree with that.

I'd also take out the ab machine. That thing is a hernia waiting to happen.

It looks pretty solid, but squats and DL on same day are tough enough let alone twice a week man.

I think he'll be alright, depending on how he structures everything as far as intensity. I've been squatting and pulling on the same day, twice a week, for about 8 months now.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

I changed squat to day 5 and deads to day 2, but you can switch it. Squats and deads in the same day are brutal.
